Advanced Lane Guidance

Wed Feb 11, 2015 10:42 am

I have installed Australia maps 940.5963, navcore 9.485, on a tomtom one xl. The maps work fine, but the lane guidance does not. I don't have an option anywhere to turn it on. The chart shows lane guidance should work with this version of maps.

Any help appreciated

You should see the corresponding arrows in the center of the status bar.
If you mean the pictures on the map screen, well there are not too many in AU.
In Mel, around the city you have a few, but don't expect to see them for every off ramp on the freeway ;)

For lane guidance in the status bar center panel: Main Menu, Change preferences, Status bar preferences, check "Show lane guidance".
For lane guidance on the Nav screen: Main Menu, Change preferences, Advanced preferences, check "Show lane images".
If you don't see these options, then change the emu to a different model.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I don't seem to an advanced preferences selection, and in my status bar options all I have is; time, arrival time and time left. Oh and horizontal or vertical status bar selection.

Any ideas as to the problem?

I'm not really worried about the lane guidance in Australia, just for when I go to the U.S. or Europe mainly.

Also tendriver, not sure what exactly an emulation is or how to change it.

What did you use to patch your map?

I used the latest fast activate and the map I downloaded also was a map with the installer and patcher. Should I download the map without the installer and just use fast activate?

No, you are OK. Did you use Downunder's 9.485 installer for your navcore?

Yes

OK. Normally there are 3 pages in the Main Menu. Downunder's has a 4th page for changing the emulation. If you have the 4th page, what emu is it set for?

I only seem to have 3 pages.

Any ideas why I only have the 3 menu pages? Should I maybe try a different navcore?

What emulation are you using?
Do you miss anything in the menu - is everthing working? If so, why bother?

I'm not sure what emu I'm using as I don't have the 4th menu page which contains the advanced settings so I can turn on advanced lane guidance. I know there isn't much lane guidance here in oz but when I travel OS I like to use it.

You can edit the "reskin" file manuall on my Navcores to select a specific emulation.
The how to should be explained in detail in several of the threads for the Navcores.
