Please use what is offered.
It is up to the uploader how to provide links.
Seeding a big map like that causes at least 6GB of traffic before an "uploader" can log off.
Downloading won't be faster either as it will be limited to the sharing speed of the seeder.
But feel free to download the map and provide a working torrent for other users.

Having some problems getting the 905 Zip file.
ie I'm taken to the 2shared website but no obvious link for file.

The link and download are working jus fine, I suggest to check your system.
The download option can't be more prominent than on 2shared.
That only leaves two options:
a) your system is blocking it
b) you don't know how to download from filehosters
My guess is on a)

Why is it that if someone has problems downloading a file that there is always a request to upload elsewhere.
The download works fine for hundreds of users, so I highly doubt it is a problem with the link or hoster.
As stated many times before: if in doubt use Jdownloader.

And there is always the legal way over the TT support, but it seems owning a TT does not mean a user is willing to check at their website

TT Postcodes

The Postcodes download at TT.com is not current. It still contains Nov. 2012 files.
