OK, that being the case, go back to planning preferences & turn off IQ Routes. That should make a noticeable difference. Not that you want to leave it turned off.

I have a TT 720. I downloaded the US and the US & Canada maps, 2gb.
I wiped my TT, installed newest navcore using TT Home program, and then tried to copy the maps to my TT internal memory. In both cases it gave me a "drive full" error. The old map I had on there was 1.67 gig and worked. These are both 1.76 and seem to be too large to use on a 2gb TT.
Why will the 2gb maps not fit?

Very rarely are memories as large as claimed. Since you have a SD/SDHC card slot, it's not a big deal.

But that is the whole reason behind the 2gb maps in the first place....that they will fit on/in the internal memory and you don't need to mess with an "external" card. I didn't have this problem with any previous 2gb maps I used.
BTW, do you know what is the max size sd card that can be used in a TT 720 slot? Also, if more than 2gb, will a larger size map with the same #s work with the unit or will it slow it down to a crawl? I'd be using one with all 3 main features enabled.
P.S. The total file size listed on the download site is not the same as when you finally get it downloaded and unrar it. The unrar'ed total file size is larger. I don't know if this is a difference in how the site calculates the size or what. Also, of the 2 maps I downloaded, the North America total size on the download site was supposedly smaller, but after downloading both, the total sizes for both maps were EXACTLY the same. This makes no sense at all.

.
1. No, the whole reason behind the 1GB & 2gb maps in the first place was for older units w/o card slots.Don't think you are telling me something that I don't know. Some time back, the full Europe map got so big that Europe was divided into 5 zone maps. Now they are having to do the same thing in the US, with 7 zone maps. I have the full featured US 955 map [1.75GB in size.] on a 720 with 18MB to spare.
2. Certainly I know. The largest one that you can find. It will not slow you down at all.
3. Zipped & unzipped size diff is due to files being compressed when zipped.
At the present time, there is not a usable full featured 960 edition US map available. There is only a USA & Canada usable full featured 960 edition
Bottom line: It is what it is. You and I can either accept it or forget it!!!

The link "Eastern US and Canada 960 7075" goes on a 4 parts file that, in fact, contains " Eastern_US_and_Canada_960_7076", wrong version, and there is no meta for 7076

Thanks for all your postings. But should it not be easier to post torrents? Linkcrypt and filefactory is so irritating...

Feel free to offer what you downloaded as a torrent.
Otherwise it is to the uploader what he uses - and there are good reasons not to use torrents

Hi, I've a Renault Scenic with (I think the first) carminat tomtom navigation (so without Live). Because the maps starting to get outdated I want go "upgrade" to the latest possible version. The nav-core version is 8842 so I thought I could upgrade to version Europe_960_7077. I downloaded "Europe 960 7077 with Automatic Installer & Patcher" and installed it on a clean (with ttgo.bif) SD card. But when I insert it into my car I get the message "You cannot use this map on this device Europe-100581". Do I something wrong or do I need to download another version?
