All Maps 965/966

Re: All New Maps 965/966

Hi,

i managed to downoald Europe 1GB West 965.7280 (thanks to Popeye ;) ), but... i have a One XL that appeared to have 978 Mo mem, and map install failed twice with an error message indicating a possible lack of memory.
My TomTom was originally with Navcore 8010, then i tried using UNCI that installed 9510, but same result.
Every suggestions are welcome :017:

Storage space is essential. 1 gb maps are getting too large for 1 gb devices. Having navcore 9.510 has no advantages for you and requires more storage space.
stick to last official navcore and install map without poi file.
Delete unnecessary voices, zip files and images.

But how can i delete unnecessary files if i can't install?
Does this mean manual install only?

Razorblatter is right, your problem is the amount of available storage on your device. Changing navcore will not fix that, actually it'll take up even more of your valuable storage space.

You should use the SD card slot if your XL has one? If not you can either find another smaller map that'll suit your needs or follow Razorblatters advice and extract the map to a location on your PC and delete the poi.dat file, then copy the remaining map to your device and activate with FastActivate.

Yes, manual install of map. Mind you, you need every file except poi cspeech files to make a map work.
Deleting of other files can be done via file manager or TTH.

You can replace Euro zone poi file by any smaller poi file of a map. For instance replace Europe_South poi file with Benelux poi.

That's done and work (almost) fine : just have to try to re-install with voices!
Too bad for POI's, i think i have to consider buying a new GPS soon (with a decent memory!).
Anyway thanks a lot to all those giving advice (and much more!)

PM Popeye

There are definitively some problems with downloading map parts but it does NOT help to post it here.

Can all the people complaining about links not working take note of what Popeye says in his post:

PLEASE REPORT TO ME ANY BAD OR MISSING LINKS BY PM

Also note that there are plenty of working links in the 965/966 Map Collections page here...scroll down a bit

Also note that if the working links were not posted by Popeye, then they are 3rd party postings & are not supported by Navitotal!!
I do not give help by PM. It deprives our other members of a chance to learn. Please post your issue in the appropriate forum/thread. You will get an answer.
