You should check that any map you're interested in already has a meta code released before downloading it otherwise you could be wasting your time.

You didn't say which map you're talking about but so far, the only two Scandinavia maps that have meta codes released so far are: 970.7466 & 970.7490

It's my fault. The map I'v tryed it is Scandinavia_970_7490. Fastactivate gives the error Incomplete map ... dct Error. I am trying to install it on working TT XL 2 GB with navcore 9.510 and Central_and_Eastern_Europe_950_6491. Thanks!

Copy the latest FastActivate and ttgo.bif into the Scandinavia_970_7490 folder and try again....when successful you should see a *.DCT file created inside that folder

Check the map, it should contain 12 files with a combined size of 256 MB (268,603,392 bytes):

I have all files but the total size is different: 268,576,986 bytes (size on disk 268,591,104 bytes). I have downloaded a different map (Scandinavia_955_6745) and I get the same error. Both maps are from filefactory.com. The one that I have installed succesfuly (Central_and_Eastern_Europe_950_6491) I have it from a different forum. I belive is something wrong with the website. Thank you!

There is nothing wrong with Filefactory. You are doing something wrong.
I just downloaded Scandinavia activated and everything works.

If you navcore is still the original one (9510) you have to patched to

The map 955 is ancient. Try downloading a newer one. Also try reading a tutorial on activation.

Hey everyone, I'm new here and just tried to run the "Eastern Europe 970 7490 with Automatic Installer & Patcher" on my TomTom XL 325S (1GB). From what I gather, it is running navcore 8.083. I have backed up the contents of the internal memory, and deleted my old map (Canada and US) in order to make room for the new map. The automatic installer does not appear to work. I have tried a couple of times, and even left it running overnight to give it time, but each time the application just freezes when it begins the extraction (the step after typing in the password), the installation progress bar does not even move. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I am running Windows 10 if that makes any difference.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don,t use the automatic installer instead use FastAktivate.

Okay, I will try downloading the map file and not the installer, and use fast activate.
Do I need a clean install of navcore (ie. wipe the internal memory and install it again). I could not find a download link for navcore 8.083 in the other thread.

Edit: I guess I didn't realize that I can use TomTom Home to wipe and re-install the software.

You don,t have to install the navcore again. But don,t forget to patched the navcore.

Use FastActivate download and unpack
topic14003.html
Copy "FastActivate.exe" and
Integrated_meta.txt
to your TomTom device in the root
Run "FastActivate.exe".
Select 2 and 3 till the message
OK System patched
Done
