If you haven't already done so you don't need to download the map again, you can just extract the map folder from the exe file.

hmm, there must be a problem with my internal memory. Even transferring the map folders manually is painfully slow. It says it will take 4.5 hours to transfer 245mb of data.

Heres the info on my device:

DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XL (v9)
DeviceSerialNumber=RQXXXXXXXXXX
DeviceUniqueID=XXXXX XXXXX
RamDiskVersion=20090817
BootLoaderVersion=55136
LinuxVersion=343369
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8083
ApplicationVersion=9669

I did not ever change my navcore, so the bootloader should be the right version, correct? All I did was delete the old map to make room for the new ones.

Plug it into the PC and scan the drive for errors

It is a well know problem of bootloader 5.5136 (slow data transfer).
So if it stays very slow after eventual repair of drive errors try a higher bootloader. Most of the time it gives a faster data transfer.

I did some research and found this thread: http://www.navitotal.com/general-discussions-about-tomtom-f81/tomtom-routes-help-t17458.html

I followed Downunder's steps in post #3, and replaced the system file. Now my bootloader version number says "0". It looks like that did the trick. I copied another large map folder to the internal memory and the speeds were much faster (might still take 20minutes, but thats better than 12 hours lol).

Edit: Got both working. Thanks for the help everyone!

If you're pasting the password, try typing it otherwise you'll need to PM the uploader of the map to investigate

No, I'm just typing it in. I can see someone had the same issue in June from a search, no luck with a fix. Will PM the OP. Thanks.

Hello, i cant download the map of Western Europe 970.7508
Link: noref.php?url=http://relink.to/f/2c4600ce9c3be8359ca9883ea3d607

when i hit the link a new tab opens and starts to load and then i'm redirected to a relink.to page and that doesn't do anything

Isn't there a map of Western Europe 970.7508 via zippyshare?

There's no meta for that map anyway

There is Europe_West_970_7466 though

High-Level Europe_West_970_7466 (11 Countries) = 1.12GB:
Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Switzerland
In addition: the Canary Islands, Azores and Madeira

Ok, you need to study posts #20, 22 & 23 here and decide for yourself which map you want and with what features.

Don't forget to look at the size of the map to make sure it'll fit & if it already has a meta code released so it can be activated.

Once you've decided, have a look at the 970/971 map collections page here to download the map.
