No, unfortunately you have no choice but to buy new maps from TT...read this

Only older devices made before September 2012 can use downloaded maps

You don't have to pay anything if you don't want to although it can take a while to download a large map via free access.

If you'd rather get it faster, you can choose to pay a small amount for premium access or buy it directly from TomTom themselves.
