Best map for old Tomtom One v2?

Hi all, a friend of mine has given me his old units to update. The model numbers shown are 4N00.004.2, and 4N00.001 (must be an original).

I cant check the original yet as I haven't got a power connector, but the first model is running the outsourced 8412 navcore, and 855 maps.

What is the best way to update? Should I wipe it clean, let Tomtom Home update to the latest navcore, get the appropriate maps and then patch both, or just keep the navcore the same and get the updated map for it? I'm looking for Iberia and UK & ROI.

I am currently backing up the unit to my PC as I type

Thanks for the prompt response . I presume with this map there would be no IQ Routes technology or Advanced Lane Guidance?

Your tomtom having 1gb intern memory and original navcore 8.

The best map is appropriate map and Original navcore for your unit. So Europe 1gb West 930.5601

All sorted and working thanks . I forgot that the unit had a 2GB SD card in it. I decided in the end to go for the Iberia map only. Put it on the SD card replacing the old map, and ran Fastactivate. It came up with a DCT error, so I copied the meta off the site into a text document, deleted the Fastactivate ones and ran that instead. Perfect.

Now to find the power connector and get started on the other one .

If you upgrade your bootloader to 5.5128 you can use SDHC cards (4GB) and put whole Europe and more if you like, on it.
I have upgraded quite a lot ONE's and navcore 8.412SE in combination with bootloader 5.5.128 is my favorite set because:
1. Navcore runs smooth and stable
2. Looks great (X40 menus its called, if I'm not mistaken)
3. Whole Europe on the SDcard
4. ALG & IQ-routes working great

Only drawback would be, that navcore 8 compatible maps are a bit delayed in comparison with NC9 maps.
930.5604 is the current one, Europe not available yet.
925.5442 is available.

Thanks RJ45 but 5.5128 is old version and not for all devices.

Thanx kaspersky_nl, but RJ45 posted his procedure for upping ONE's with navcore 8.412SE. For this, bootloader 5.5128 is quite appropriate. As for other models, that might be running 5.5128, if they are running with no problems, then they ain't broke, so don't fix um!!
