Postby collymonster » Sat Dec 27, 2014 2:25 pm

Sorry for the newbie question, but I have an old TomTom XL350 - I have used it around europe successfully with maps I found here thanks to you guys. Now I'm going to Dubai and wondering if its possibel to get maps for the UAE at all?
Any help greatly appreciated!

Keep it simple.

First make a full back-up of your internal storage

If you have more than 40mb free space left on your internal storage, just copy the countrymap to your internal storage. So you have 2 coutrymaps on your device.
If your device is still original you need to patch it before you can use downloaded maps. And you have to activate your new map.
Fastactivate does both.

tomtom-tools-f127/fastactivate-latest-update-2014-now-includes-version-updater-tool-t9359.html

Download Fastactivate
copy it to the root of your internal storage and start it up
Chose option 1, update meta.txt
than option 2, activate maps etc
and last option 3, patch navcore.

We can make it a bit simpler.
ALWAYS DO A FULL BACKUP USING WINDOWS EXPLORER BEFORE DOING ANYTHING!!
Download & unzip: FastActivate
Download & unzip: [Please Register or Login to download file]
Copy FastActivate & [Please Register or Login to download file] into your XL.
Run FastActivate options 2 & 3.
Disconnect & reboot.
Done!!

Would this work for a 930? If not, what would be the right Middle East map to download?

Thanks :)
