Help needed, Tomtom does not restart after intallation of ne

Postby Glick66 » Sat Jun 01, 2013 5:41 pm

Hi,

I am new on this forum and would apreciate help.
I have downladed the map Europe_South_910_4892, replaced the existing map folder Europe_South (875.3613), and have run Fast Activate (all steps) from the TomTom root.

When rebooting the TomTom (GO 730, Navcore 9.510), it gets blocked on the first screen and does not move on.

Did I do something wrong or forgot someting? Any help would be appreciated.

I did patch the navcor too. I just re-did it in case and it said it was already done.

No mapsetting.cfg file on the Tomtom.

But I do not understand why a "myversions" files says:

ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom GO 730
DeviceVersionHW=GO 730
DeviceSerialNumber=J4xxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=55120
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9510
ApplicationVersion=1234792.1
CurrentMap=Europe_South
CurrentMapVersion=875.3613
Map(s): F:\Europe_South_910_4892\
Storage: Size 1955MB, Free 344MB

Is it normal that the old map is still mentionned ?

Just try a clean install, meaning to create a backup using WindowsExplorer,
deleting all except the ttgo.bif file and your voice folders,
then add a new Navcore and map,
activate and enjoy.
If you use a SE Navcore or one of mine you don't need to patch the NC, only original NC need patching.

Your welcome!
I assume a clean install was all that's needed?

You just have a small patching issue.

pe1agp wrote:If you did, connect once more to your pc and remove the file mapsetting.cfg, most of the time will be that the biggest problem.

Glick66 wrote:No mapsetting.cfg file on the Tomtom.

The mapsetting.cfg file is in the old map folder. It is not an issue in this case.

Yes, until you reboot the device, which will create a new ttgo.bif file with the correct info.

A clean install is a bit drastic for having just a minor patching issue.

Because these are your only 2 options!!

ALL of the above is intended for "FUTURE REFERENCE"!!

Yes, it fixed your problem, but it wasn't the best or simplest way, considering that you only had a minor patching issue.
