Help with GO 700 Truck map please.

Postby stehinch » Mon Aug 17, 2015 3:35 pm

Ok, so my trusty Go520 died and currently cant afford to replace it, however my sister has just given me her GO 700. Could anyone give me some advice on installing the latest truck map to this please?
Whats causing me problems is the memory size, 2.3gb storage.
I have the "9.701.go_work.CAB-navcore-GO-WORK.cab" navcore which ive unzipped to the root directory, and i have TomTom Europe truck 945.6247 happily sitting on my hard drive waiting to be put on the directory and fastactivate to be run. However this map is 2.7gb in size. So I've screwed up!! Is there a smaller version (quite happy with just UK Truck, not going to be heading overseas for quite a while) or anyway of deleting a few unneeded files such as voices? Ive had a look around and Ive done this a few times withmy 520, and a few months back with this to update sisters car map however my forum searching and google fu has gone weak.
Advice/instructions anything gratefully received,

Thanks

No, you can't get it small enough for a GO 700

So theres no way of getting a truck map (even if its a bit out of date) on the 700 at all due to storage capacity constraints?
Meh, well, better then nothing i guess, and if i start working again ill easily be able to afford one.
Thanks Razorblatter.

The latest Truck map that could be reduced for 2GB devices is the 945 edition.
Everything after that is simply too big in size, even the 945 need heavy mods for the map content and a slimmed down Navcore to work at all.
For current maps it is really best to install a SD card internally.

Yeah sorry, I was a bit too strict in my statement that it was not possible.
But the maps continue to grow and you really have to cut a lot make it somewhat doable.
I was aware of the 2GB Truck Map topic and wanted to link to it but got distracted before I did it.

Even though the GO 700 has got 2,3 GB storage capacity, it does need the bigger truck navcore and you still need to cut into it. But you may be lucky and have just enough storage to make it work for you end.
