When i want to upgrade my TomTom XL, i get an errormessage with not enough space on the unit.
I have taken backup through TomTomHome + the way it is described in the forum with showing hidden files, and copy all content to a safe location.
The question:
Should i format (delete) all content on the unit before running the installation process?
If yes, how is this done? simply mark all files and press delete?
Looking forward to hear back

I have downloaded the 915_5106 maps for europe which is the maps TomTom Home suggests.
When i plug in my TomTom XL, i start up the installation file, and the first couple of files are copyed without problems.
But then it stops, and says there is not enough space at the unit.
When i pres properties at the unit, (through explorer in windows) i see the internal memory in the TomTom xl is app. 1 GB.
The maps i have downloaded are app. 855 MB.
So, should i manually delete all files on the TomTom XL before running the installation file?

Should be enouh to make a backup and delete the old map folder.
If that is not enough delete all and let Home do it's thing.
In case somthing is missing you can restore it from the backup.

I'm trying to activate the 925 map for USA Canada. It is too large for my internal drive (F) so I have loaded it on an SD card. Fast activate asks me to supply the name of the drive (E) which I do, but it just comes back with the same question everytime. Has anyone else overcome this issue?
Thanks in advance

Probably you don't have a copy of ttgo.bif in the root of your sdcard.

You map is not patched. Put FastActivate.exe & a copy of your device's ttgo.bif in the USA & C map folder & run F/A option 2.

Thanks for your help, I hadn't copied the ttgo.bif. That fixed it.
