Map can't be used on this device, need help

Postby ozie26 » Thu Feb 04, 2016 6:01 pm

Hello,

It is my first time that I try to install maps on my Tomtom one XL device.
I followed the tutorials and everything went well, but I get an error that I can't use the map on my device.

Navcore installed: 9.510 for the XL series
Map used: Central Europe West 960.7075 (Installer +patcher)

I have installed and patched succesfully, anyone knows what the problem could be?

Thank you for reading

Download FastActivate and extract it to the root of your device > run it from there & select option 3 > disconnect & try it again

Actually - hope I'm right this time - it's option 2 you need to use (again). Did you allow the device to restart after installing the 9.510 navcore so that a new ttgo.bif could be created?
If your navcore is not patched yet, you'll also have to use option 3.

1. You are right this time - it's option 2 that ozie26 needs to use.
2. FastActivate will tell you that there is no ttgo.bif file present, if you attempt to run it without one.
3. If the navcore is not patched, you will get a "no map found" error message.

Thank you guys, that worked!
My navcore was already patched but my map wasn't.
I thought when using the automatic installer and patcher, it was not neseccary.

Thank you again

EDIT:

The map is working fine now, but I don't get any voice.
I downloaded the LoquendoTTS Dutch Willem, placed the files and then installed navcore again, because I have read that the voice must be installed first.
After doing this the voice still does not work. I used this one: VOICES LoquendoTTS v7 (X30) , but I don't know if this is the right one?

I don't want to create another topic because my problem is the same as Ozie's.

I have a TT XL IQ Route, I upgraded the navcore to the 9.510 version and then tried to install the France map 960.7056. But when I tried to start my TT, I got the same error message.

I followed the instructions you mentionned but without success.

Does someone has any idea where the problem can come from ?

Thanks for you help.

What does FastActivate report when patching the map?
Is a .meta.dct file being created in the map folder?

Make sure FA's meta has been updated (option 1).

If there isn't a .meta file & a .meta.dct file in the France 7056 folder, it means that the map is not patched. Put a copy of FastActivate & a copy of your ttgo.bif file in the 7056 folder & run option 2. Disconnect & reboot.

Delete the .meta.dct file. Put a copy of FastActivate & a copy of your ttgo.bif file in the 7056 folder & run option 2. Disconnect & reboot.
