Postby toftjannick » Sun May 15, 2016 5:32 pm

Hallo

I have downloade 9,510 and installed it.
and then only 1.75 GB back on GPS.
Have downloade Western_Europe_965.7251_Installer
and 965.7250 and 965.7283 but then I found out, that they are too big. :013:

then I downloade the Europe South 965.7250_Installer and it does not work either.

what map must i download to get it to work.

The TT Info.

Europe South 965.7250 is compatible for device & does have meta released so you should have no problems with activation.

Extract the map to your device and activate it manually rather than the automatic installer method.

1. Backup your device using Windows Explorer
2. Move the old map folder from your device to your desktop
3. Extract new map folder to your device (PW: navitotal)
4. Extract FastActivate to the root of your device
5. Run FastActivate.exe from the device and select options 2 & 3
6. Disconnect device from PC and reboot it....job done

It depends whether you need a map with advanced features like Advanced Lane Guidance or not (and assuming you have NC 9.0xx or above).

If you do then you'll have to look at a region of the US like:

US_East_South_Central 970_7466
US_Midwest 970_7466
US_North_West 970_7466
US_Northeast 970_7466
US_South_Atlantic 970_7466
US_South_West 970_7466
US_West_South_Central 970_7466

But if you'd prefer the complete map with limited features then you can use:

United_States_1GB 970_7491

All of the above do have meta available so will have no problems with activation

Thanks, I have NC 9.510. We are going from CT to GA and then to SC, so would I need US_Northeast & US_East_South_Central. I new to this sort of, I have updated maps on my old Nuvi 360 and customized the voices, etc but the TomTom is different I guess. I just need a newer map and then I will set up a custom route with Tyre like I did back in 2012, Yup, thats about the last time I used a GPS. I mostly just use Google Maps on the phone. Originally I set up a custom route using My Maps from Google just to find out you can make a custom route, but then can;t follow it with Turn by Turn directions...kinda useless! Noe hours and hours of reading and trying to figure out how to get this done by using the old one because i hate to get a new one just to use it for a week! Thanks again for the help!

Ok, you can download those maps from this thread....there are plenty of links there and some show the file sizes too.

Once downloaded, follow my instructions from post #2 above to install and activate them

Thanks...I'll try it when I get home from work. Actually just need Northeast and South Atlantic. What do you lose using the smaller full map compared to the smaller ones I'll use anyway?

970.7466 maps are the fully featured maps which have Advanced Lane Guidance, IQ Routes etc but the other maps only have some of those features if any at all.

See the compatibility chart at the top of post #2 on this page to see the different maps and their features.

Thanks, look like it worked (make sure you turn off Norton if you use it when using the FastActivate). When I turn it on it gives me an option of the two maps Northeast and South Atlantic. For my trip I will need to use both maps (going from Northeast to South Atlantic)...is there a way around this or do i have to go with the limited US map? Thanks again for the help!

It's up to you to make the best use of the limitations of your device (2GB internal drive with no SD card slot) and the available maps and meta codes.

The compatibility chart at the top of the meta code page is there for you to study and make the best choice of map for your own personal needs.

In other words I need to use the no trills smaller US map to do the trip I'm taking? Maybe it is time for a new one or try to do the card mod I read about. Also, with these maps, should I not connect to home anymore? Thanks again for your help and advice, greatly appreciated.

As I said, it's up to you which map you use.

Map are continually growing in size so the problem is only ever going to get worse over time.
It's better to get a model with 64MB RAM and an SD card slot that dates prior to September 2010 so for EG: Go x20, x30, x40, x50

No, you can use TomTom Home as normal

When I turn it on it gives me a choice of which map to use, so if I pick the northeast map to start from, I can't travel in a location in the South Atlantic map.....correct? I can only use one map at a time and only use locations in each map?
