map very slow

Postby pintail120 » Thu Jun 13, 2013 4:48 pm

Hi,
I have a Navigo and have firstly installed maps for South Africa and they are:
South Africa Swaziland and Lesotho 880.3823 v880.3823
The device works fine with only this map on the device.

I have then additionally installed the following maps:
United_Kingdom_and_republic_of_ireland_910_4952
V910_4952
Language: English UK
pocketpc device
app version 7.450 (9028)
free ram 18.5Mb
GPS driver V1.20

After installing these maps the unit has become very very slugish, all menus are very slow to navigate.
I have noticed this occurs with other maps. I do not think this is related to the size of the maps as the Unit runs fine with bigger maps such as Western Europe which are 1Gb.
I would be very greatful if anyone would be able to assist me on this and have an explanation as to why it runs so slow?
thanks
Gavin

Did you make sure no POI's are shown on the map screen? ;)

HI,
thanks for your speedy reply
yes, I have now turned off all POI, there was a minor improvment but all the menus are still very sluggish, takes me 1 min to type in a postcode.
thanks

No problem, the POI's are always my first point to shoot at as they get 64mb TT to a stand still when too many are selected.
If you really need some of them you can activate them but otherwise use them only as a destination.
