I'm new to this if you could help me please.

Hi guys,

I am new to this kind of thing and I have a TT XXL classic series and I never done any map updates. I have been reading many topics and tried to install Europe_West_950_6491 version, but when turned my TT on it says it is not compatible to read it...

I am pretty much lost that I do not know which version to install or if I am doing anything wrong...

I did put the file into the TT folder when connected to the pc...

So what should I download for my version of TT?

You can certainly download any map from any source that you wish.
Keep in mind that we only support our maps, which are posted by Popeye, our Map Maven. This is for Quality Control.
What is your current map?

I have the original one like I said never updated anything

OK, we are very good at what we do, but we aren't clairvoyant. I have no idea what the original map was!!

The map version that I have is v900.4602 so I guess that's very old

It's only 3 years old. The current equivalent is 950.6492

Okay thank you very much then as I have been reading all I have to do before transferring to the device is do the fastactivate metacode right?

1. Download & unzip the map.
2. Remove the old map folder. Copy in the new map folder.
3. Confirm that your device has a ttgo.bif file in it's root.
4. Run FastActivate option 1 to update the meta.txt, run option 2 to patch the new map & run option 3 to patch the navcore.
Disconnect & reboot. Done!
