Hi,
I have downloaded the postcodes but have not added to device yet, so hopefully all will work when I do.
Can i ask a few questions?
1. Why was only 900.4608 suitable for my TomTom when the charts usually have a few that are compatible? just so I can work things out for myself without pestering you!!!
2.I wish to also add a European map soon, probably France and possibly Germany (only one map at a time will work, I understand due to the size of the memory of device (512mb), should I stick to 900.4608 versions again?
3. Is the limitation to specific map due to the memory on my device (512mb)...I guess I would not be able to add any of the larger maps???
4. If I add the european map eg France or Germany, will I have problems with postcodes again?
5 The maps in thread 1 of 'All New maps 900.xxxx' if they have a meta code with them, what am I to do with it?..or does 'Fastactivate' sort all that out? Thanks for any advice/help.

1. Please carefully read the
Download Instructions: in post 1 of the All New Maps 900.XXXX & 901.XXXX thread, & you will find your answer.
2. It depends on what maps are available, usable, compatible with your navcore & will fit on your one.
3. The limitation is determined by the 4 factors in point 2.
4. The postcode ZIP only applies to the UK & Nederland.
5. You do nothing. The metas are posted just as an advisory that a map is usable. FA dated 24/12/12 should have all available metas included.

Hi,
I have unzipped the postal codes zip folder and unzipped Great_BritainPostal.ver and Great_Britain.postal files to root of device, still didn't work.
Used fastactivate - didn't work...added to map folder--didn't work.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help appreciated.

I edited the download a bit. Re-download the 900 Zip.Zip.rar. Unzipping it will create a folder titled Zip. Copy the Zip folder to the root of your unit. (You can delete the Nederland & Singapore files)

Hi I downloaded the 900.zip.zip again, it was the same as before but I extracted it into a folder and labelled it 'zip' (it didn't unzip into a folder called zip, I had to create the folder) and put that folder in the root of device and it worked.
However on checking the map in detail now for e.g. street names it is not listing any common street names that should come up straight away.
The device does show that map 900.4608 is on there but it doesn't seem very extensive.
Any ideas?
thanks for any help

Just tried to extract the France map 900.4608 manual install, it is in 2 parts, the part 1 asks to insert part 1 rar disc in disc drive when try to extract???
What does that mean?
Part 2 seems straightforward do we need part 1?

You must not be using WinRAR.

1. Right click part 1 & run the unzip as Admin.
2. YES, you must use both parts!!!

I did right click on france part 1 zip folder but option for 'run as administrator' was not there.
Right clicked on Winzip programme icon to run as administartor so think I already am administrator.
Any advice? as still comes up insert disc in drive etc.
I will try auto install download too.

In an attempt to duplicate your issue, I downloaded
France_900_4608 parts 1 & 2 from
All New Maps 900.XXXX & 901.XXXX post 1. Using WinRAR 4.20, I left clicked part 1, which opened with no problem. I then left clicked "Extract to", then OK. Part 1 unzipped & part 2 auto-unzipped with no issues. This leads me to think you have a corrupt download.

Sorted..... used winrar - right click - extract files to a folder and then asks for 2nd volume - used browse button to find part 2...then moved folder across to TomTom patched with FA, and done...
I think I'm sorted now, but thanks for your help Tendriver.
Happy New Year

I came across this post and thought I will download and install the map France 900 4608 , as you had sucessfully installed it.
