Postby RichieRich » Wed Jun 14, 2017 6:31 pm

Hi guys,

I'm new here so please go easy on me!

I've have been trying to update my TomTom ONE with Navcore 9.510 and Map UK and ROI 990_8306 for most of the day without success.

I am getting the following error message:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick response, much appreciated.

That has 'worked', however I am now getting the following error message on boot:

'WARNING: None of the available voices can be used with the current language. You will not hear any spoken instructions.'

After pressing Continue the device becomes unresponsive and after a short delay reboots itself.

Any ideas?

Weird...

Double check that all of your voices are in a folder called 'voices' which is in the root of your TT

If you need them, you can download the standard TT voices from here

Discovered the above problem was due to voices folder being missing! This was because I was advised (wrongly) to delete everything on the TT then copy Navcore and new map then run FA.

After restoring the TT from backup I now have a better understanding of what is required to make it work. After completing the restore the unit was working as it should.

I then upated Navcore to v9.510 and the map to v990.8306. After boot, when I press the screen the map 'greys out' and after a few seconds the unit reboots like it did before.

Could this be the problem?

Ok, now you've given a bit more information, I can see where it's gone wrong....you were given lots of bad advice I'm afraid.
The reason you're having problems is because you're trying to run a fully featured map on a limited RAM device, therefore it's running out of RAM & rebooting.

You need to start again & install a specially modified navcore with an inbuilt swap file which will get over the problem.
Holyhead normally deals with these but I think he's on holiday at the moment so I've modified one of his excellent posts to suit you:

holyhead wrote:
Make an backup from the Device.
Delete everything on the Device

Download [Please Register or Login to download file] & extract the archive onto the TT One
--
1) Reset The Device (minimal 15 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
2) Choose United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland 990_8306 (you've already got this map)
--
3) Copy the map to your device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the individual files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
--
4) Download FastActivate
Extract FastActivate.exe to your TomTom device root (internal or SD Card).
Run FastActivate.exe from that location.
Select option 2 & wait for activation successful message
Done

Once you've completed the above your TT will be working properly so it's time to finish it off:

1. Download the postcode files and install them using the instructions provided here
2. Download the SpeedCam files and install the Premium UK ones using the instructions provided here

That's it....jobs a good 'un
