First post here but I used to do this sort of thing a few years ago but been out of the loop for a good while.

I've a Start 1GB 32MB RAM on NC 9.057 currently using UK&ROI 835.2419

It's never been patched before or the map updated from when I got it


I remember patching the navcore back in the day so that updating the map could be possible. I've read through many of the tutorials but cannot find instructions on this?

Or does downloading the map (I've chosen 995.8507 after checking the compatibility chart & meta txt availability) & using the “Automatic Installer & Patcher” do the patching Navcore too?

Yes, the “Automatic Installer & Patcher” should do all of the work for you...if not you can do it manually if needs be.

FYI: Sometimes a 32MB device can have problems running a fully featured map like 995.8507 which will cause it to reboot as it's running out of available RAM.

If this turns out to be the case when you get it out on the road, you'll have to download UK & ROI 995.8549 which will sort it out...see how you go
