Hi
Well I happened to come across an old TomTom Go 710 (2006). I've never used a gps in my car and I thought I could give it a try. It has Navcore 6.110 and tt Home states that this device is no longer supported by tomtom (lifelong free update!). I know this gps has not been upgraded since it was bought in june 2006. Can't see the date of the map of Western Europe but there is a file (.pna) which contains this info in Notepad :
ID=Western_Europe.pna
825045440
650
build=1047
id=38915
Is this version 825.xxxxxx - my guess!
I managed to download a newer navcore 7.903 (navcore_7.903.9183.go510-go710.cab extracted by IZarc), and used a 2Gb SD (formatted Fat32 in winXP) instead of the original 1 Gb SD, moved some files back (?) and ran FastActivate. And lastly I moved the old Western Europe map back. I had to make a reset (little hole on the back) and it all worked perfectly well. Fantastic! Since I'm not (at this stage) interested in all new and fancy features I'm satisfied with this upgrade. But a 12 year old map seems a little obsolete and now I've got stuck! I think I've registered everywhere, scanned a lot of threads, read a lot of tutorials and I will soon be 73 years old. This is too much for an old man!
At Navitotal.com I finally found compatibility chart for Map/Navcore and it seems I can use map 965.7252,7280,7281,7282 or 966.7376,7404,7443 and since I earlier downloaded from PirateBay 971.7669 this one is also OK. Sadly the download from PirateBay which included WesternEuropeMap, Fastactivate and some crack-file was unsuccessful (regarding the crack-file which seemed to be banned!). At Navitotal there were links to download through some site which linked to FileFactory. Impossible!!! What is this? A dead end?
OK I will calm down!
It would be MUCH aprecciated if I could get some help with this.
