Tomtom One

Postby satpat2 » Tue Aug 02, 2016 9:21 pm

Hey Folks

I'm sorry if this is a repeat of another post but I have searched and read and searched more and I am still confused and scared of bricking my dad's tomtom

He has a tomtom one and not sure if I have to update the bootloader and which maps and navcore will work with the tomtom one safely, I have updated my tomtom XL with success but really struggling with this one

Any help would be really helpful, my old man has never updated his satnav

I have downloaded the latest fastactivate and camera's but unsure about the rest

A little info about the SatNav and the versions it has installed

Device AK5SJ XXXXX
App - 9.510.1234792.2
OS - 842337 (2039, 4/4/2013)
32MB RAM
GPS - V1.20 SIRF 3
Boot - 4.8100
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_ireland V 660.1199

Hardware Type - TomTom ONE New Edition
Storage Type - SD Card

thanks again

You only need to update the bootloader if you want to use SD Card > 2GB

So I suggest try first this

*) Recommended Navcore navcore 9.510 32MB device
[Please Register or Login to download file]
--
Recommended Map (meta availble)
United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 970.7467
--
1) Make a backup of your Device and delete the content.
--
2) Unpack the* navcore (winrar ) and place folders and files on your Device.
--
3) Reset The Device (minimal 15 sec) and start it till the announcement "No map found"
--
4) Copie the chosen map to your Device in his own folder.
If you open the map you see the loose files and probably a folder (brand).
Not a map in a map.
--
5) Copy "FastActivate.exe" to your device.
Run "FastActivate.exe".
     Select 2 and Done

Is that a typo?

I would have thought you'd be recommending United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 970.7466 or is it that a One doesn't have a microphone so going for 970.9467 with slightly less features?

No that is not a Typo.
As you mentioned it has not a microphone and one less future are the HNR. I expect that his father only stay,s in the UK (last map 660).

Yes that's right folks

I have opted for the auto map file but when I ran it, it said 940.7467 but I downloaded 970.7467, is this a typo error or have I downloaded the wrong file from the maps post

Also where do I copy and paste the META data, I opened a meta file but it's all jargon in notepad, thanks

I don,t know way you have opted for the auto map. Post 2 say,s what to do. You don,t have to copy and paste the meta data. The 970.7467 is right for the job.

I think that the bootloader need to be updated to 5.5022. How big is the SD Card you use ?

Has this worked from post 1
Device AK5SJ XXXXX
App - 9.510.1234792.2
OS - 842337 (2039, 4/4/2013)
32MB RAM
GPS - V1.20 SIRF 3

Ok I started from the start again, formatted card again but not a quick one, followed all the steps again and it worked like a treat, do I need to update bootloader ?

Thanks and really appreciate your time and energy to help me get my dad's satnav fixed, he is going to be so happy but I will mention the help came from Holy Head & fredderf

I'm not sure if the full format worked, as I did a quick format and I had the issue, did a full format which took a lot longer but worked, so not entirely sure but your advice worked a treat for the step by step process, again really appreciate the help and your time.

Rang the old man and hes chuffed with the help from you guys too, what a great forum
