TOMTOM XL IQ Routes 9510

Hello Everyone,

Originally it had following map on it : europe 845 . 2647 . But did not work , because the one updating the map did not know the device was already altered. And it locked itself.

Since I was unable to find this map here I downloaded : Central Europe 960.7056_Installer .

I've installed it , restarted the device. Copied fastactivate onto the device, did every option it allowed . Then rebooted again . Now it is still stuck at TomTom logo after approx 5 minutes.

I guess the map 960 is not compatible ?


Which map for central europe can I install on this device?

A TT does not lock itself.
And if there are serious problems then do a clean install on an empty device first - this is the only way to make sure old ballast is not causing trouble.
No format! Just deleting of files and folders.

I will delete everything on the device with Internet Explorer ( hidden files too )

I will install the navcore installer.

Finally I will install the map and hope for the best.

ps.: I will try deleting CurrentMap.dat and CurrentLocation.dat on root foolder . I read in the forum , it might be problematic for the device to find the map if the path changed. Which is what happened here....

Does not matter, as these files will be generated from scratch once all is up and running - that is why I said "clean install"
In 99% of cases a clean install really does fix all the problems a user had before with his device.

The lack of a map being listed in CURRENTMAP & CURRENTMAPVERSION is a normal indication that the navcore has not been patched.
You might want to run FastActivate option 3 again before you start over.

Wohoo It worked , now I have 9500 64 mb installed , the only problem voices are missing. I downloaded TomTOM HOME but was scared to apply the patch because it not only installst language... but it forces the 9510 update on me.

Is there a way to download Lisa and Werner German Voices manually ?

As shown by yourself you already have navcore 9.510 which is the last official navcore for your device.
So I do not understand it if you're stating otherwise.

Anyway, if TTH 'forces' you to accepts NC 9.510 just do it. Afterwards you can download any voice you like.
The only thing you have to do is run FastActivate again, options 2 and 3.
Nothing to be scared of.

Nothing in any of your posts indicates that you have NC 9.500. IF you do in fact have 9.500, it is a Rider [motorcycle] navcore.
Keep in mind that different devices have different features and their navcores are built to support only those features. For obvious reasons, motorcyclist have to use helmet headsets for communications. Navcores for motorcycles are built to be compatible with the use of headsets for sound, not an internal speaker. Therefore you don't need to worry about voices or sounds. May I suggest you install or re-install 9.510 also included in the universal navcore installer.

Hello all, as you can notice i'm new here and I've spent a lot of hours reading at this website, I have been reading the tutorials "how-get-the-right-navcore-and-map-working-on-your-TT" and "What's the right navcore and map for your device?" over and over but didn't understand everything.

I want to download and use the latest map available for western_and_Central_Europe_2GB

Navcore: 9.510
RAM: 64MB (20.7MB available)
GPS: v1.20
Boot: 5.5136

Map: Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB v825.2157
Language: Dutch

I'm a noob newbie to this kind of stuff and would like to firstly try the map of Morocco as I'm currently on holiday there. To see if everything works just fine. Could somebody help me out please, I'd really appreciate it!
