TomTom Start - No maps found

Postby jameswinter » Sat Oct 19, 2013 7:32 pm

Dear community,

First of all thank you for posting these maps for the public.
I have an old TomTom Start lying around that really needs a map update. It's running Navcore 9.051.
I tried using the automatic installer for Benelux_915_5074 and all went well until I turned on the device.

"No maps found!"

I checked the internal memory and the Benelux folder simply dissappeared, I tried it again but the same thing happened.
Does anyone know how to proceed?

I did the following:

1. Connect the device to my PC via USB cable.
2. Backup all files, then deleting the old map folder (Western Europe in this case).
3. Run the automatic installer for Benelux v915 from the sticky thread.
4. After install was successful, I checked for the Benelux folder which is there.
5. Disconnect the device from my PC and turn it back on. Message displays: No maps found!
6. Reconnect the device to my PC, to find that the Benelux folder is gone, it got completely removed, not hidden either as the internal memory has freed up space.

I replicated it two times, same effect, I'm really puzzled as to what is happening.

Do have TT Home running in the background?
If so kill that process before trying again.
There is nothing within a Navcore that would delete a whole map folder.

1. OK.
2. Good.
3. OK
4. Did you check for a .meta.dct file in the Benelux folder, to confirm that the map had been patched?
5. Normally this means that the navcore has not been patched. In your case ???
6. Since Benelux is such a small map, may I suggest that you download Benelux_915_5074 [103MB ]. Unzip it & copy it into your Start. Patch it with FastActivate Latest Update. Confirm that the map is patched as described in point 4.
Also patch your 9.051, if it is not already patched.`

This did it, thanks!
I just patched Navcore and the map with FastActivate and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the quick help, now I can use the lastest maps again.
