TomTom XXL

Postby j1372971 » Wed Dec 30, 2015 11:30 pm

Good afternoon, I have a XXL TT and my current info is:

ttgo.bif:
DeviceName=TomTom XXL Classic Series
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL Classic
DeviceSerialNumber=GQxxxxxxxxxx
BootLoaderVersion=55281
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9465
ApplicationVersion=1074274.2
CurrentMap=Western_Europe
CurrentMapVersion=875.3669

Map(s):
F:\Western_Europe\

Storage:
Size 7627MB, Free 6760MB

and I want to update both the map and the speed cams and I have no idea how and the bootloader and the metas and all of that confused me a lot. Can some1 explain everything to me and tell me how to update it?

The up to date equivalent of your current map is Western Europe 960.7056 that you can download from here
Also download FastActivate and the latest SpeedCam files

Move your old map to your desktop and then extract the new map to the root your device

Next, extract the relevant SpeedCam files into the new map folder on your device (use your old map's SpeedCams as a guide)

Extract FastActivate to the root of your device and run it selecting options 2 then 3, once completed disconnect and reboot it...job done

You're bootloader doesn't need changing and the meta has already been released for that map so you won't have any problems activating it with FA

If the map is patched, copy the map folder to the card. Done!!
If the map is not patched, put the map folder, a copy of your XXL's ttgo.bif file & a copy of FastActivate.exe on the card. Run option 2. Done!!
If you can't use the internal & external at the same time, you will need to add a navcore to the card.
All of this is based on the assumption, that your XXL actually has a card slot.

If you put a map only card into your unit, but can't select the map in Change preferences, Change map, then you will have your answer.
