Upgrading a TT One XL

Upgrading a TT One XL

Postby tbltbl » Fri Mar 21, 2014 9:55 am

Hallo to everyone and congratulations on a really expert site.
I am updating a One XL with 1 GB internal and an SD slot (2GB) and cannot find out which maps work. I have followed the compatibility chart but got the message "This map does not work on this device" I am trying for Western Europe.
I have updated using TT Home until no more updates were available. With a 2GB SD card inserted, TT Home suggests that map 926.5479 is the newest map available for this model, but of course the 926 is not yet available. Navcore version remained at 8.010. Am I stuck with this and is that the reason why the map did not work ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

1. OK.
2. This is the classic message when a map has not been patched.
3. 926.5479 is a replacement for 925.5439. 925.5442, which requires NC 8.1XX or higher, is available, as is 925.5443, which requires NC 9.0XX or higher.
4. No & No.

Thanks for the quick reply Tendriver. Considering that I have Navcore 8.010, which Navcore would you go for ? I have now got hold of the map 925.5439 . Is it better to go for the highest version of Navcore ?

If you use 5439, it is compatible with your current 8.010 navcore.

Thanks again for your accurate technical responses. They saved me a lot of time. I enclose for other users exactly what I did to update my ONE XL.

1. Format 2 GB SD card
2. Connect to TT Home select SD card instead of internal flash and update everything (many times - I think 3)
3. Download the required voices from Home
4. Choose map from Home and note its number !! This gives you an absolute reference as to which newest map is correct for this model.
5. For my navicore, 8.101 this should not have worked according to the newest compatibility chart, which is why I had to ask tendriver for the map number.
6. Add radars and safety cameras
7. FastActivate
8. Everything worked !

1. We never recommend formatting a SD/SDHC card or internal memory, except in the most severe cases.
2. OK.
4. Maps are navcore specific, rather than device specific. With the ability to use different navcores, and having a SD card slot, your choice of maps is almost unlimited.
5. It appears that 8.101 is a typo, & that you mean 8.010.

All in All, Well Done!!

I use navcore 9.170 on a One XL and a One, plus have upgraded a few friends with the same. Gives lane guidance etc too and works with all the maps I've tried bar the Chinese script ones. If you upgrade the bootloader to 5.5136 you can use SDHC cards too. 8GB is enough for maps of all available countries as you can delete the cphoneme and cspeech files from each map folder as these are not supported or used.

1. Any bootloader 5.5015 or higher supports SDHC cards.
2. You can almost cover the world with a 8GB card.
3. There are 5 maps in the current 925 Edition that have IQ Routes & ALG, but no cspeech, eliminating the need to delete any files. 2 caveats, not all of the covered areas have 1 of these 5 maps available and/or there is an available map, but it doesn't have a posted meta code, therefore, it is not usable.
