Re: Chinese GPS headunit help!! "No map card found"

Hi all

My brother in law has an iGo sat nav in his Astra VXR and has recently been getting an error when launching the navigation software. The error is:

No file found:
maplaunch.ini

He's no idea why this has happened. The sat nav was working for eighteen months, and then stopped. He'd not removed or written to the file at all. Is there anywhere I can copy the contents that should be on the SD card onto it now? There's absolutely nothing on it when sticking it in the PC.

Thanks.

Tom

see www.navitotal.com/mazda-f109/chinese-gp ... 14023.html about the error

There is a trick to repair. I use "Primo" here as the folder name and Primo.exe as the program name, but it can be "igo" or "igo8" or ...
1. copy the folder "Primo" to sdcard (assuming you have a copy of a working Primo, look for it on this forum when you don't, or use iGO8, if you want even the original one that came with the device can do)
2. create a file in notepad, open the file and write this:
[MAP]
path = Primo\Primo.exe; <-- this indicates how the gps find the path to execute primo.exe, change to your needs (program)
bmpiconpath = Primo\ui_igo9\800_480\loading_1.bmp; <-- this indicates to load loading picture at the beginning of startup of the gps and the resolution is 800*480, if not, change to the proper numbers, note that IGO8 uses "ui_igo8", not "ui_igo9"
3 save tha file as"maplaunch.ini" on the sdcard,
4. populate (copy) map, building, poi, dem, voice, and other file into corresponding folder in folder "Primo/content".
When the sdcard is inserted in the headunit, it should work. (I hope)

Where would I be able to find the Primo file as my brother in law doesn't have a copy of it anywhere?

This is a good place to start : http://www.navitotal.com/
Serious: the forum si divided in sections: TomTom, IGO Miomap, etc, a bit further down fixed navigation systems and Android.
Take a closer look at "IGO, Miomap and others " and see the subsections for maps, software, ... ?
