Hello,
This is a way you can try if your MIO gps port is blocked or frozen:
Because as i have many freeze problem on the GPS port after a sleep mode of the device with garmin xt, igo, or amigo too, or because i have the original software disturbing the one i want to use after a kill(smart_ce.exe).
You know that all the software are differents and have there "original .exe" name as "igo8.exe", "destinator.exe", "amige.exe", ... and where inside there proper directory.
I simply rename all the originals .exe files in "smart_ce.exe" (because i have a mio moov 580 and it is the original software gps name) and modify all mortscript files .mscr as they call "smart_ce.exe" software in the directory (ie:" \igo8\smart_ce.exe "after rename "igo8.exe" in "smart_ce.exe", or "\amigo\smart_ce.exe" after rename "amigo.exe" in "smart_ce.exe")
I test this and i will work fine now !!!
The GSP will restart fine after a sleep mode.
I test this on a other device like Danew GS140se, the original software is "destinator.exe", and i had nothing modify on the device. I only create good directory on a SDcard and add a mortscript procedure...
I rename all "igo.exe" file, "amigo.exe" file, ... in "destinator.exe"...
Enjoy.
Please, give me a come back.
Thanks

@nanocom
I'm sure someone will reply to your post. I can see that you did a lot of thinking. Thank you.
I think when you talk about a freeze after putting your device to sleep is actually something that has been discussed a great deal. It's not really a freeze but a wake-up issue. When you try to wake-up your device and have the program resume, the device actually restarts from the beginning. It can be explained this way. When you put your device to sleep, it loses connectivity with the SD card and when you wake it up again it has to re-establish that connection to the SD card again. And that's why it restarts. Hope I didn't confuse you.

Hello,
Yes, when i write it is a freeze, it is not really a freeze of the GPS port (so i had to write
LOOSE the port is the good word).
The right is that the gsp software did not connect the chipset port GPS so there is not gps signal !!!
Since i rename my soft with the original name of the device as "smart_ce.exe" in my Mio moov, i never had any problem after a wake up. Before i always may reboot the device all time i pause it and also, if there is a usb power failure when you start the engine of the car or disconnect the usb wire (the lithium cells are ok).
That bothered me having to completely restart...
I try Visual and MioPocket with good success, but i think it will be a bit complicated to use on a simple gsp device for a novice (but it is very very interesting to learn many things on windows ce and other software)
Now, i use my device with a mimimal starting script to call iGO8
, it is better than Mio
!!!

The situation : -
There is a problem with your device. Either hardware or software.
Usually charging to full and reboot the device will work.
You are 100% wrong about MIO software. It is the easiest to modify.
You can install OpenGL software to run 3D graphics with Sygic Aura and Garmin gmap3D like any PDA/PPC.
Rewrite the " MioID.dll " and " Mainshell scripts " if you know.
See how it works with all softwares as long as the hardware can support.
This is my " MioID " modified. So far no coding to all softwares I installed in my unit.
My device ID is " XX". No more long codes.
Try it if you want.

The way that I look at it is, he was saying that he likes iGO 8.3 more than he likes MioMap.

Hello,
I come back... with my Mio Moov 580.
Now, I only use Primo 1.2 with GJ skin.
To unlock my Mio, i use a 128 sd card with good Cobia_T550_64 folder and mortscript software.
Just renamed autorun.exe on auto.exe
and this is my auto.mscr :
# begin
#
sleep 5000
#
Kill("CLMapp.exe")
# dont forget renamed your favoryte GPS software in "CLMapp.exe" and write good folder link
Run("\My Flash Disk\primo\CLMapp.exe")
#
# end
Install the folder of your favoryte GPS software (xxxx.exe = Primo, Igo, Amigo, Garmin, Tomtom, ... executable) on the GPS device Flash memory... and rename the xxxx.exe in "CLMapp.exe"
It is important to rename xxx.exe in "CLMapp.exe" because with this, the gps will be reload in good condition and star again after a sleep mode (middle position of the power switch called off !!!) different as a total stop mode call reset on the top of the device...
But now, i need help for the backlight of the screen...
It will not work, i try many way in the sys.txt files for the [power] chapter
The light is always on the max and the setting in the GJ skin as no effect.
Any idea especialy for Moov 580 ?
Cheers.

OK, you've tried to add the backlight sys.txt entries with no luck as I understand your post. Keep the entries in the sys.txt. Try deleting the save folder. Completely shutdown your device, wait a few seconds and then re-start.

Cheers

Good job nanocom. You've taught a lot of people here that finding the correct way to get your program working correctly requires work on your part and not just someone finding the answer for you. This place is a partnership where one member must help another member at least with information. Plus thank you for posting your working sys.txt for others to see. I'm not sure there is anything or anyplace where you can find out what each specific entry in the sys.txt means. Most of the entries you see in sys.txt[s] have been created by hours of trial and error and even the creators don't know the meanings - just that it worked. Sorry, but this unfortunately is the answer to your question.
