Mio 3.3 unlock modified for use w/ Primo2

Postby Amused » Mon Feb 13, 2012 11:09 pm

Guess you're right, mate.... Perhaps I could just add a couple of skins to the primo 1.1.

Again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND FOR BEING PATIENT WITH ME! I wish you all the best!

Not for you I'm afraid. You should be able to unlock [hopefully] either using Visual or MioPocket Lite.

Oh yes it does work very well! maps and all the other things work also very well like the primo here 1.2 i think!
I simply cant use Tomtom, it seems tomtom wont work on wince 6.. only work well with wince 5.

But about primo2 yes it does work well, and it's almost the same steps like this one here primo 1.2

EDIT: a few more things.

Primo 2 has a more skins and 3d cards. before the installation you have to know the resolution of your gps screen to make it work or it will crash to the main window. the primo2 i installed had all kind of resolution and it was pretty easy to instal once i knew which resolution was.
Also it takes a little while to start once you do all the correct steps, It will take like between 5m to 15minuts.
In the end it has alot more feactures than the primo 1.2, But the skin is the same so once we are working with him we think we are using the 1.2 ;)

Thanks for your post. It's nice to know that my unlock works on your device. TomTom for any WinCE is not recommended. Igo for WinCE is the way to go although it depends upon your location.

I have edit my last post, i included a few more things there.
Also yes the igo always get 8 satellites no less than 6.
Still the last release which was the Truck, still not very updated.. cuz there are roads and auto-roads here made like more than a year ago and still not recognize those roads.. And my country is Portugal.

What mapset are you using?
When I am/was driving around in the south of Europe (Spain, Portugal), I notice the maps (I prefer TeleAtlas) aren't always accurate. I never tried Navteq down there, because up here ;-) Navteq just doesn't give me the detail I need (house numbers, detail on industrial terrain, etc) while TeleAtlas does. So that is the reason for my - local and loyal - choice.
However it is possible that in other countries Navteq is the better choice, above TeleAtlas<<<<<<<<. Scandinavians, esp the Swedes, prefer NT. Maybe in Portugal NT is better too?

Hello nabi!
The maps i am using are this ones right here ->

"""" R3 Navteq 2011.Q4 + Truck Europe (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus) """" they have portugal and spain, and i believe this ones are the last ones that i believe that has the last releases for Peninsula Iberia = portual and spain

Well i might be wrong dunno, But if you sir know about a better release for my country, Please let me know!!

EDIT:

I've instal this ones now " iGO R3 NAVTEQ 2011.Q4 Europe (map, fda, fpa, hnr, poi) (with primo1.2)"

They seem to detected most of those roads the other up there i mention didn't..

I'll tomorrow drive for a while and see, how this ones are, Still if any of you NT know about a better release please be free :)
Thanks

Hi bro.
First I would like to thank u for great job u have done on Moi 3.3 from ur first post.
I was in similar situation like user named Amused. Got C320 totally empty with damaged firmware so I had to fix it. ( R40+3+9904+0720 now) Your package works great, I just wanted to ask u about some changes because this device is for my old man and Im afraid in this "original" form it would be too complicated/confusing for him to use it.
My point is: if u can do some changes in menu, I intend to give him device with just Igo primo + Igo 8 and necessary stuff (other nav apps like tom tom, navigon garmin are not necessary for him), but Im not completely sure how to do that changes.
So help me please if u can/want.

Thanx for ur time.

P.S. Happy New Year.

Here's my recommendation. It's easier to use my 3.3 modified unlock as what it is than to re-modify another unlock [one of xtyler92's] for use with iGO8 and Primo [2.0 I guess] and have you re-modify my unlock to return the C320 back to default. It's as simple as this for your father. Start up the Mio as normal. When it gets to the menu simply have him press "MioMap." It then goes to the black unlock. Have him press "NavNGo" which then brings up "iGO or Primo." Press either one and the program then starts. He can more or less forget any other buttons.

He must exit each program properly though. He can NOT just turn off the device.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
