I am trying to get Tomtom maps for my Navman S50 but keep going round in circles,
Firstly the instructions say download Fastactivate, But cant find it anywhere, secondly when I try to download any maps , I keep ending up at file sharing sites that want membership and charges.
Is there an idiots guide anywhere with how to proceed.
I have already managed to unlock my S50 and have it working with a blue screen on start up,
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The FastActivate link takes you to the tools subforum where FastActivate is.

This thread explains how to use download hosts, it is not necessary to pay any money to download any file at navitotal.

Thanks Fatboyfun, worked a treat after your explanation for Fastactivate, now downloading maps.
Please advise how to check what navcore I have on my s50 as it says to select maps compatible with the navcore.
Thanks

If you look at the chart in post #1 of the official map thread, you have a wince version which is the far right column, as a general rule you need the smallest (in file size terms) map.

When you run Tomtom for the first time the ttnavigator.bif file is generated on all drives.

For ease of use put everything on the SD card.

Tomtom runs very nicely on the S50.

Hi Fatboyfun,
I have now managed to download the following:-
Fastactivate
Map: UK and Ireland 905-4800 - auto installer and patcher with meta code.
Navigator folder.

Please advise if I need the Post codes and speed cameras as well or are they included in the Map 905-4800?

You stated I have a wince version on the S50, where is this info on the navman , or is this special knowledge? I checked the grid sheet and 905-4800 is Ok for wince. Thanks for that

Lastly,
You said that running navigator creates the ttnavigator.bif file.
does it also copy the device's ttgo.bif and ttsystem on the SD card, or are they not needed. The notes state they are needed?

Thanks again for your help.

You will need postcodes and speedcams, they are not included in the map.

You have a windows ce device, so you need a windows ce navcore, real Tomtom's are Linux

Your version of Tomtom uses ttnavigator.bif, ttgo.bif is not used, they are the same file, just renamed, the patcher tool knows this, just substitute the name in your head.

@desastev No problem :)

@Combat Goofwing If the install button is greyed out it means the unlock is unsuitable, on some S30's you can just replace SmartST_CE.exe, or you can look at dalanik's visual unlock.

Also there is no difference between Tomtom Navigator 7 versions other than cosmetic tweaks to match device themes, where it was supplied with the device, the only two versions you can use on windows ce are 7.450 and 7.910, all other versions fail to work.

thanks for the help
