i have igo on other mio device but i have this new one.

If some one can help me please?

Even if you get TT working on a WinCE6, it is not recommended as a nav. It is NOT the same program as is on a real TT device. It is only the basic point A to point B. Igo is the way to go unless the map is not to your requirement.

Forget tomtom on wince 6, its continual problems will drive you insane.

I have been srtuggling now to find a map that my mio spirit will reconise (find) ,i at last found one United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 905.4800 i used the installer for this and i got wrong activation code for map on my device. so i tried the fast activate and still the same problem.I also tried as suggested in another thread (United Kingdom and ROI 910.4892) but my device wont even find this map.So My difficulty is now how to activate United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 905.4800, any help will be gratefully recieved.

Your device is a Mio Spirit?

Mio Spirits are Windows CE6

TomTom does not work under Windows CE6 unless you use a workaround.

This workaround creates more problems than it solves.

Myself and Navitotal don't recommend TomTom for Windows CE6 devices, it simply isn't worth the constant hassle you'll get for an old, bare-bones navigation app.

There are much better options available.

Thanks for reply , i have already igo on the device ,just struggling to get tomtom working (i can be anal like that ) to see if i can. i think i got the map working but now i am geting not enough memory. It is possible to get it 'working', with it installed normally you get a "Not enough memory error" when the device gets a satellite lock, this actually a dll load failure.

Long ago someone noticed if a route was already loaded before it starts, it works, so a workaround was created that restores a previously generated config file with a route already loaded.
Trouble is this config file also stores certain settings and all the favorites, so in effect, some settings are always reset, and you can't save any favorites.

And if you can deal with that, it corrupts itself regularly so you have to start over.

chiller953, take a look at post 191.
I'm running TT on Mio S 605 (Spirit) & Mio S 685 (Smart_ST).
I have to create for the very first time a route on Mio MOOV 500 and copy MapSettings.cfg on to S Series device.
After that all work OK.

I urgently need to know how to disable the speed cameras when in France. I am going to Toulouse on 20th Sept 2013 and speed cams on satnav's are illegal in France.
I have a Navman s50 3d and loaded maps G:\Western_Europe_1GB_905_4800.
Do these maps have speed cameras for France? and if so can they be disabled. I cant find the option when in the Tomtom mode to disable them in the menu.

I assume it's in TomTom Services/TomTom Safety Cameras/Disable alerts.

Thanks NRT, Didn't see the option till you said.
Do you know if this makes it legal now that they are turned off?

Unless you added the speed cameras to the map file then they won't show up because you don't have them installed.

Fri Sep 13, 2013 6:46 am

The speedcams are not included with the maps, you need to manually add them and activate them

Thanks for the replies NRT and Fatboyfun, I had initially added the Speed Cameras when I installed the Western Europe 1G 905 4800 map. I disabled the Safety Camera alerts under Tomtom Services today and tested it in London and it does not show any speed cameras. I will take it that it will be the same in France. The question is, does it now make my satnav legal as the safety cameras are turned off and not displayed...

I believe so, or you could just delete the French cam files so you can use them everywhere else, but they won't work in France
