Is it possible that your USB cable to the computer is not good anymore? Have you tried all the USB ports? Have you tried running "Total Commander" from the SD card?

EDIT: Meant to say, have you tried doing a hard reset with the device? Also found this:

You might need Mio Transfer Hack. I think this program is an essential asset for altering / adding / deleting and copying files on your device.

Install Mio Transfer on your PC. It is on your DVD. Then copy mio transfer hack.exe into the install directory. Now you are all set. Turn your device on before connecting to your pc through the usb cable.

Hi, sorry to bring this old topic back to life. I have been searching a lot for a way to unlock my Mio C220 with MioMap 2008 so that I can install iGo8 on it, but I havent been able to find any working download links.
Is there any chance for a re-upload of the files from the first post?

Thank you for the link and the files. I extracted them and put them on an empty SD card (it says SD on the card not SDHC). I followed the instructions in the readme and tried both methods but nothing happens. I dont get any menu. My Mio C220 is european, could that be the problem?

How big is the SD card ?

It is 2GB, formatted as FAT

Thank you for the files. After putting them in the flash and creating an IGO folder on SD and moving Igo8 contents to it I now see a big iGo icon in the middle of the screen. When I press it I get a message telling me that it cant find 'Igo' make sure that filenames or paths are correct. I tried renaming the folder to Igo but still the same.

Always make a backup of the Flash first.
Connect the C220 to your computer. You must now be able to see the internal memory (Flash).
Empty the flash
Download the attachment C 220 Igo8 flash SD
Unpack it and copy the content to the Flash.
If you got the message overwrite the answer is YES

Take empty SD card no larger than 4GB SD (not SDHC)
Then create a folder with the name Igo8
In the folder,Igo8 make a folder content
In the folder,content make a folder map
Igo8\content\map
Place the country,s (fbl files) you need in this MAP
