Unlock and add maps to Mio Spirit 685

Mio Spirit 685 - Has a TMC folder & NO SD Card slot just internal flash memory.

I want to unlock this and add an up to date UK map.

There are lots of Mio unlocks but I am not sure which to use for this exact model - also I don't see any instructions for adding the maps after the unlock is done.

From reading, I think that iGo 8 is what is the reccomended way to go for maps - any ideas on that would be great.

What I most would like is up to date maps and cameras if possible, anything else would be a bonus.

Any ideas and ways forward would be most welcome.

Hi Holyhead, thanks very much for the link. I have downloaded that now but do not quite understand the instructions - can I check ?
1) Delete everything on the internal Flash
2) Copy everything from the rar file to the Root
3) Eject and then reboot ?

Do I need maps ? - can I do this before having any ?

You can install it before you have the maps but the UK is already integrated.
You click on Goede Reis and then you use the explorer from wince.

OK, instructions were a bit bare but I have installed the archive files and it now boots to a screen where I can get an 'Explorer' type interface or press the iGo button to go to a Satnav type software.

I have got it to pick up satellites but there are no roads on the screen (and I am on a road here !) - so not sure if I do have maps or if I have done something wrong maybe ?

I also got a screen saying the maps were out of date (maybe it always says that ?) - how do I update/add maps and cn I check that I do have maps already ?

Place countries files in the folder Primo\content\map

You need files with the extension fbl

OK, I know see that I already have a map file in thePrimo\content\map folder called "United_Kingdom_HERE_2017.Q1_170224.fbl"
I also have another file there called Basemap.fbl - but nothing shows up on the screen ? Any idea what is wrong there ?

Is it something to do with licences ?

Any further info would be great - if I get this working I would be happy to update the howto that ca
me with the archive, I thik it could do with some further info adding !

PS - I have downloaded the torrent you mention - the map file looks older - should I try that as well ?

Not sure what is wrong but the Satnav does not know it has any maps on it. If I go to 'Find' or 'Find Route' etc and go to 'Find Address' - Select Country or State leads to no choices. Is there some Postcode files missing maybe ?

Anyway some ideas would be great and I will have a go.
