Any bootloader 5.5015, which is in NC 8.300, or higher supports a SDHC card.

BEFORE you attempt to change the B/L, run TomTom Current Configuration {13.11.2011} & post the results here. Knowing your device model & current setup will enable us to give you a navcore update recommendation.

hi folks

i installed a custom navcore, not the original navcore.
here is the testing result.
when the navcore is internal memory and map is on memory card, device doesnt accept the memory card.
when the internal memory is totally empty, and everything is on the memory card, it works perfectly but the 1gb internal memory disappears. not a problem as long as it works.

memory card is a 2 gb micro sd card with sd adapter.

i tried same steps with 8 gb micro sd but failed.

my device: tomtom one 4n00.004

[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v3)
RamDiskVersion=20081205
BootLoaderVersion=50500
LinuxVersion=2344
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7903
ApplicationVersion=9183

map on it: United_States_890_4234

5002
Unpack to the root of your device and reboot after that you can use a SDHC card.
You might want to think about using a V9 Navcore to get the benefit of the latst full featured maps.

On a ONE, the internal & external memories do not work together. You have to use either ALL internal or ALL external.

Who would such a collection?
Either you use the original for the device or in the case of old devices with an official NC of 7.xx you update to the 5.51xx

Your ONE can't use the internal & external at the same time. You can only use a full internal setup or a full external setup.

If I guess your posting correctly you want to know about an update.
No update needed, your Navcore is fine.
If you need new maps you only need to download the map and use FastActivate to patch your Navcore and activate the new map.
