Open ttgo.bif change lines 9 and 10 to read as below

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982

Save as ttgo .bak and reeboot ;)

This is how you did it last time:

1. To fix version error.
Open the ttgo.bif file with Notepad.
Replace lines 9 & 10 with these:
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8010
ApplicationVersion=9369
Save it as ttgo.bak
Disconnect & reboot.

Do it exactly like above except use:

ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=8351
ApplicationVersion=9982

In Windows Explorer go to Tools > Folder Options > View and then untick "Hide extensions for known file types" (See pic below) and then you can right click on the file and rename and delite the .txt extension on the end of the name this will fix your problem ;)

I have been messing around and what i have found is the origional navcore is 8.544 but but it has very few options and not supporting alg and no change preferance settings very basic so i downloaded 9.053 se version for one, go, start and when i use this better version with all the menu settings i dont get any sound at all but the voices are there and the volume goes up and down but with no sound. i tried changing the ttsystem file only back to origional and i get sound but basic menu prefrence, the ttsystem file in se i get no sound.
What i want is v9.053 with full menu and to use alg and not just the basic menue with options and advanced settings with no option to turn on lane guidance which i get in se version.
Is there a link to a copy that will do what i require.
Thank for help.

even more confused now. I have just updated my tomtom one v4 from 8.417 to the same 9.053 software as i put on tomtom start and it works fine with voices and alg settings, so i put 8.417 on start then pasted over with 9.053 and all fine but still no sound?
if i put 8.417 on start it just hangs at start up and i have to reset.

For a TTStart i do not reccomend an unofficiall v9 navcore for any small screen devices because a vast majority of the time you will get display problems and maybe other problems, i have heard of a mirrelle v9 edition that does work on small screen devices so maybe search for that edition ?
