TC2 wrote:Managed to update my own One V4 OK, navcore and map, but I'm struggling with a friends TomTom One V1.
It has the original 120mb SD card which I want to leave as is cos its not big enough for the latest maps. I've got a 512mb SD card that I want to use. Tried the following but it won;t start up at all:
1. Formatted card.
2. Unpacked and installed this: SE_navcore.8.410.1218_32mb_Devices.
3. Coped UK & IE map V860.3126 to sam card.
4. Ran Auto Activate but it said ttgo.bif is missing. Copied this file from V4 backup.
5. Ran AutoActivate again, seemed to go OK.
6. Inserted card into V1 but just stops at the first screen wit a red cross flashing over a sd catd.

Have I done everything I should have done?

Would be grateful for any help you can give.

Thanks

1. We never recommend formatting, except in the most severe cases.2. OK
3. OK
4. ttgo.bif files are device specific. You can't copy the file from 1 device to another. You should have used the ttgo.bif file on the original 120mb SD card.
5. Not OK. You patched the map to run on the V4 device.
6. Do you understand why now?

Re-loaded the 512mb card again following what you said using the ttgo.bif from the V1. Still no joy - gets to the screen you get when connecting to a computer and then get a red coss through the card.
Also tried jusy copying the entire contents of the original 120mb card to the replacement 512mb card -same result. Put the original card back in and its fine.

Could it be a card compatibility issue (512mb card is a Kingston).

Thanks

how you copy your map to tomtom v1 ? try to delete file named mapsettings.cfg from map directory

after copying .bif file from v1 original card, you must run autoactivate again...

card works your device if it not broken ....

I have to put the 512mb card in a card reader and copy all files and the map through Windows explorer.

There is no file namrd mapsettings.cfg in the map directory.

Ran autoactivate after copying ttgo.bif. Still can't get it to work.

I'm going to buy a different SD card and try again when it arrices.

Thanks

Different SD card now. Updated the bootloader so that I can use a 4GB card.

Works a treat.

Thanks for all your help.

Just acquired a TT GO 530, 1GB internal, 64MB, NC 8.410 (updated from 8.398 - didn't want the work bit), Boot 5.5120, UK & ROI V865.3245 on internal memory. All OK. Backed up using explorer.

1. Is there an advantage using a 64MB NC on a 64MB GO 530 or will a NC for 32MB do exactly the same?
2. I want to experiment with a V9 navcore, was thinking about 9.160 for 64MB, or is there a better choice?
3. Can't download from Easy Share - keeps telling me my IP address is already downloading when I'm not. Tried at different times of the day but still the same result. Are the NC's available on a different download site?

Thanks

Hi there,

I have the TT One IQ Routes Edition, I would be very grateful if you could tell me if I was currently using the best maps and navcore for UK and Ireland - I have version 9.054 for the Navcore and map UK and ireland Version: 865_3236, but it doesn't seem to work, even when I use FastActivate!?

Thank you in advance and also thanks to all the great posts on this wonderful site!!

1. There is no 64MB or 32MB navcore. They are all the same. If you are referring to the Navcore AutoInstall thread, the 32MB navcores have been "doctored" to run on 32MB units.
2. 9.160 is OK. DO NOT use the NC AutoInstall. It adds the 32MB stuff, that you don't need.
3. Download this .cab: [Please Register or Login to download file] + [Please Register or Login to download file]

Unzip & copy the files from both downloads, to either the internal or a SD card, overwriting any common files. Disconnect & reboot.

What you mean when you say that it doesn't seems to work?

I don't see a 865.3236 version. Only see 865.3246 or 3256. And your Navcore version seems to be enough to work with most 865.xxx maps

NC 9.054 is OK
You have the wrong map. You want United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_865_3245 [227MB]
To make it work, confirm the map is patched by looking for a .meta.dct file in the map folder. If there, then confirm that the navcore is patched.

TT GO 530. Thanks for the alternative download links. Installed and, for the most part, working OK. I like the look of the V9 NC but have a few more questions.

1. The light sensor doesn't seem to work now as it won't auto switch from day to night colours. This function did work with NC 8.398. Not a major issue but is there anyway to get it working with a V9 NC?

2. I think I've read somewhere on the forum that you can't have the FM transmitter and command and control working together - this is the situation I have with NC 9.160. Is this still the case or is there another V9 NC that cures the problem.

Thanks.

Auto day/night functions in emu x50. It is based on time of day, not light or dark.
