Thank you TenDriver that worked ! Is there a way I can have the 'Quick Menu Preferences' arrow with this navcore? Also, as I look through the menu I can't find 'Version info' or 'Show version' option? Is there another navcore that will let me have my cake and eat it too?

1. Do you have a Main Menu "Quick Menu Preference" option? If so, checking a couple of option should give you the arrow.
2. Do you have a Main Menu "Status & Information" option? If so, left click it.

I've been hunting around for these options but they don't seem to be there at all?

I have a TT 910, 20GB hard drive, navcore 7.903, bootloader 1.0012. Would like to upgrade navcore and bootloader but have been told not to update bootloader. Can I still update navcore without updating bootloader and if so what version navcore would work best. Thanks.

Upgrading bootloader 10012 is not a problem. Bootloaders 1.0100 and 1.0200 are the ones that should not be upgraded.

I have a 910 running Navcore 9.051, b/l 5.5229 and 865 W&CE map, works OK.

I remember there was/is something odd about early b/ls, suggest you either plough through all posts in this thread, search it for "bootloader" variants or wait for a more informed response. I haven't noticed a boot loader thread here.

Thanks for the responses. I have done quite a bit of searching regarding updating my version bootloader and it seems the answer depends on who you ask. I will continue to look.
Can I use my current bootloader and just upgrade the navcore to say Navcore 8.412.1236?
This a great forum, I have learned a lot.

I don't know who you have been asking, but the correct answer is: Upgrading bootloader 10012 is not a problem. Bootloaders 1.0100 and 1.0200 are the ones that should not be upgraded.
Navitotal has helped many members with 1.0012 upgrade their units including the bootloader & haven't bricked 1 yet.

Thanks for the response Tendriver.
What version navcore and bootloader would you recommend for my 910?
Again, great forum, I have learned a lot and hope to learn more.

Thanks for the reminder Hamish. I installed the navcore you used but left the bootloader as is. It works great. Just have to update maps and done. Will be using 865.3245 version maps, US and UK-Ireland.
Thanks again.

Hamish,

One last thing; where can I find the bootloader you listed in post #292. I may just go ahead and update the bootloader. Do I have to use bootloader 5.5229 with navcore 9.051?
Thanks.

You only update a bottloader if it is really necessary!
That is only the case for older devices that without a newer bootloader would not have support for SDHC.

I have never bought into the notion of not changing the bootloader & have never bricked a member's unit.

The bootloader for navcore 9.051 is 5.5237. USE IT!! I don't understand your obsession with the bootloader, but you need to get over it!!
