If you have 3 blue boxes at the bottom of the Nav screen, GO: Main Menu, Status & Information, Version Information.

If you have 2 blue boxes at the bottom of the Nav screen, Tap the right hand blue box for Status Summary, then tap the white box in the lower right side titled, Version 9.205

DU's 9.205 self on my old rider has passed all tests with flying colours so i'm now looking to change the original bootloader to read sd cards larger than 2gb. i've had some thoughts on how to do this but feel they'd be a bit long winded so what bootloader would you recommend and the best way to go about it. i've looked on the tutorials and really haven't found what i'm after.
a pointer in the right direction is all i'm after.
Kind regards

Every navcore has it's own bootloader, which is a file titled system. 1 exception: they are not in the 9.4XXs. Some guys delete it or rename it, when they build & post a mod version. They do this so the user has the option of upping the BL or not. If it is not included in Downunder's 9.205, go to the navcore section & download the 9.205.cab. The 9.205 BL is version 5.5250. Copy the system file into your old SD card. Boot your Rider. After it is fully booted, shut it down. You can now use a larger SDHC card.

thanks as ever for your prompt reply, very informative. however(sorry for being a pest) but it leads me on to ask one final question on the subject:i don't envisage any problems running 9.205 self but if i ever need to revert to original nc and i read on here that you can't downgrade a bootloader will 5.5250 be compatible with nc 7.901?

Your question leads me on to a question. Why would you ever need to revert all the way back to 7.901? I honestly don't know if bl 5.5250 & 7.901 are compatible or not. We have never had a member with a need to find out. A bl can be bumped back, but the need to do it is very very rare.

it's only that nc 7.901 is the original. i don't know if there is a later official navcorecore for this device, perhaps i should find out.

Allow me to answer. NO, 7.901 is still the current version for your rider.
