DSA Navcore

Thanks to downunder35m for the DSA Versions

The procedure is always the same for the installation , Any problems please ask in this thread. :
  • Copy all files and folders from the archiv to the device,
  • Add the missing "skin" files from the Home DLL folder : all files with "data" in the filename are to be copied to the root of the device.(This is to prevent the errors with the menu or missing/double icons)
  • Add the mapfolder (can be already activated from an backup or or activate if needed)
  • Then you can start the device, The first start takes a while and one reboot will be performed this is normal.
  • After that you can select the emulation over the menu (no switchfiles!) - except for the self versions wich only support the emulation for the device it was installed on.

navcore 9.205 doesn't wok on my GO 300
navcore 9.103 work fine on my GO 300 but only whit standard voice like jacque not with the TTS voice

I have installed 9.103 on an "XL250 Australia" in order to get back full menus. Installs and runs fine but has no sound. The other thing I notice is the icon for setting speed cam warnings did not appear.
I've also tried several SE Navcores all with the same no sound problem (though x40 and X50 emus will give the speed cam options). I can get sound on the SE Navcores only if I select model:ori but this only gives the EasyMenu not the full menu.
Unit came with bootloader 5.5244, I have tried 5.5250 and 5.5242 all with the same result. Just not sure what Tomtom has done to lock down these units?
In the end to get around it I have used the SE version with x40 emu to set up the speed cam warnings then gone back to ori emulation and used a .mnu file to get most of the menu items back.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

All Self mode Navcores are specifically for one device and might not work properly on other devices that don't use that Navcore in their model range.
The new XL models are very fuzzy and several users reported nothing is working while others report if works fine with certain combinations.
For the SE Navcores : have you tried X40light as well?
There is a TTS patch that is used in the Dark Mireille Navcores, you can find it [Please Register or Login to download file] - on several devices this was able to solve the problems, but not on all.
Replace the files inside your LoquendoTTS folder with ones included. This should be done after the Navcore was set up and all other settings are done.
Hope it helps you.

Thanks Downunder I'll give the TTS patch a try today and let you know how it goes.
I have tried X40light already with no luck.
I did use the official TT update before I tried any navcores and it did update to 9.103

I'm afraid the TTS patch didn't work for me.
Hopefully someone will work out the glitch with the new XL devices that ship with easy menus soon.
For now the .mnu solution is pretty good, I think all that's missing is TT Services, Help me! and Set owner pages.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a "DSA" navcore and how does it differ from a standard navcore?

DSA isn't a navcore, it is a patching tool. The links in post 1 are navcores that have been patched with DSA.

The main difference is the way it handles the emulations as you can change them using the menu.
Some other parts are patched in a different way to the normal SE versions and again a different form of patching for the sound is used on some models.
Since the strukture of the installationis different too you can not mix a DSA and SE Navcore without running into some problems on the way.

For the end user it makes no real difference as our "ready to go" Navcores here are already patched and tested on the devices we recommend (unless otherwise stated).

argus,

I have installed 9.103 on an "XL250 Australia" in order to get back full menus. Installs and runs fine but has no sound.

I have the same issue with my XL250. I installed the following navcore and it all works but has a limited menu. http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2273-Start-Navcore-with-newstyle-simplified-menu-for-most-devices. We will just have to wait a bit for a working version me thinks but all activation works.
