GO920 with 9.051

Postby dvdhack » Wed May 25, 2011 9:49 pm

Hi,

I was using 9.134 but then moved my latest maps to an sd card and I used the navcore that appeared to be favoured for the GO920 ie 9.051. This navcore works really well in most aspects and I only have one issue. The screen sensitivity with 9051 is such that when working through menus I skip pages and entering info using the keyboard has me entering the same character multiple times with one press. 9134 isnt like that and you need to press the screen quite firmly to use it. Somewhere in between would be really nice, is this somehow adjustable, does anyone else have these issues?

Many Thanks

It is not adjustable, but try the 9.004 or the 9.205 they should work just just fine with the screen.

ive just tried the navcore on my tomtom go 920..it doesnt work on my unit...just leaves a blank white screen...done a hard rest still the same. I formatted the internal hardrive....and went to tomtom home...and it suggested it promted me to 8.351, which i installed and then patched..using latest uk and roi map 870...seems to be working fine....what are the benefits of using a higher navcore, ie 9.xxxxx etc or higher...?mind you the spoken instructions dont seem to be very loud with navcore 8.351...any ideas why ?

For most devices there are no real benefits.
If you have an old TT with an official Navcore <8.2xx it is still a good option to get full featured maps working and a better user interface.
For the fully equipped 64mb devices it is more or less a user choice - let's say you want the nice looking X40 menus on a X20 or X30 device.
In terms of problems the best Navcore is still what Home installs - everything else can work, but there is no guarantee.

I have NC 9.026 on my GO920 and works perfectly, with TT Services (fuelprices and autovelox)

Can you tell me if you have (or did you have) the EPT working on that one?
If you're still around...
Thanks

EPT is not a navcore function. It is a device funtion. How many times must you be told this.
