having trouble with sons one xl

Postby bernieo » Mon Jul 18, 2016 7:44 pm

i have tried loads of navcores ,some for 32meg deices
loads of maps ,can get it to fire up ok after fast activating
but the minute i touch the screen above the menus ,ie to navigate etc it crashes
can browse satellite fixes ,see version info.
but it hangs then resets if i touch screen, as if to go into menus.
can an old one xl use a version 9 navcore ,because version 8 looks dated now
if push comes to shove ill stick with v8 but need newer maps
any suggestions guys
thanks

You don't have to upgrade the NC to use the latest maps. If you study the compatibility chart at the top of this page, you'll see that TT provide maps for all devices with NC's 7.8xx and above. In your case any 970.7490 map will be suitable for your One XL.

If you want to use some of the more advanced featured maps, then yes you can experiment with some other NC's but the 'best' and most reliable navcore is always the official one provided by TomTom for that device.

Just use the latest official navcore and get it with TT Home.

thanks for the replies guys ,managed to get 970 maps working ok with the original navcore.
let tth update to 8.14 but will not go any higher ,no more updates
just, when i use it, all the icons seem very old fashioned and out of date ,compared to the the 530 with latest truck and navcore i normally use.
its just me being fussy i guess ,my son is happy enough with it
thanks :041:

May I suggest that you load & try 9.510: navcores-9-for-tomtom-devices-f124/navcore-510-t12861.html
