Hi chaps...
It's been way overdue for an update,... so long in fact I cannot even remember what it was I did last time around. (and that was after looking at my own posts... lol)
Well, I have a 710 with these details:
App 9.026.483454.1
OS 473972 (1010.15/12/2009)
GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5128
uk & roi v890.4222
I have already downloaded the latest "fastactivate" and I have a spare 4gb sd card that is blank.
I also had a look at the compatibility chart, and I think that 965.7250 is what I might need, (I like the ASR voices)..
I just wanted to know if this would work for me,... also I have not got a clue how or when i ever managed to update my navcore... (I'm assuming the navcore is equivalent to the App).
endless amounts of appreciation to anyone who can help an aging driver get some more life out of his old tomtom.
p.s. my mate has asked if he could borrow it for a trip to the states,... Disney world, ect... could anyone recommend a new map for this as well please. (high possibility it will be the last time I see my tomtom.... lol)

You don't need to update your navcore 9.026 as it is already capable of running all of the fully featured maps as it is.
So you can download both UK & ROI 965.7250 and USA_Canada 965.7250 as both of these maps have already had meta data released so you'll have no problems with activation.
Once downloaded, extract both maps to your SD card along with a copy of your ttgo.bif file (from the root of your device) and then a copy of the latest FastActivate.exe
Run FastActivate from that location selecting options 2 and 3
Job done

Cheers fredderf,
I'm going to copy my my card just in case,.... before updating. but I have to say,.... thanks mate.
(just wish uploads were from go4up or someone else like that)... still ... free is free, and that's all that matters.

ASR allows you to talk to your device.

No internal root on a 710.
