Missing icons on TomTom Rider 9.205

Postby ukeyes » Mon Apr 25, 2011 10:56 pm

Thanks for the info. Downloaded both the SD card and the MP3 Player installs. I found that the SD card install worked the same as the one I have currently put together (does not have Traffic or MP3 Player) but does work. The MP3 Player version does not have the Traffic icon and even thought the headset connects it does not play any audio (even just the spoken TomTom instructions.) Which is the same problem I have had with the versions I have played with. I think it has something to do with the PNDNavigator file as this is the only file I have to replace in order to get it working (the problem is that it also removes the MP3 icon..) I guess what we need to be able to do is edit the PNDNavigator file and add the MP3 and Traffic icons as well as enabling Wireless Data Transfer.

TomTom Rider Version 1 32MB (free: 7.3MB)

OS 547200 (5007, 2/7/2010)
GPS v1.20
Boot 5.5250
Map UK&I 865.3245

Both of my creations work fine on Rider 1, 2, 3.

Try this:
- Use ALL files of one of my images. NEVER parts of them.
- Try map 865.3256 (you dont need ASR/Cspeech)
- Do not play music before successfully hear voice.
- Old original Rider-headsets support "Headset" and "Handsfree" profiles, but not "A2DP".
- Did you REALLY pair your headset TWICE? (headset and loudspeaker-settings)?
- Dont walk out of reach of your bluetooth-connection while playing music.

Thanks for the info. I have tried the above and still have the same problem. The pairing the Headset twice did not work as the lousdpeaker settings would not accept the bluetooth pairing code (not sure whay as I have used this headset a number of times with other devices, so I knwo what the code is.)

This means that your headset does not have A2DP capabilities.
So you can't use my Urban-Rider-Special, but still the optimized Urban-Rider-edition.

Not really sure that is the case as I have tried this with two devices that have the capability of both headset and handsfree dialing. Also, any news on the Traffic and Wireless Data Transfer?

- "headset and handsfree" profiles are different to "A2DP". Details can be found in my thread I already mentioned.
- Traffic was a feature of old Riders. To use this service your device established an internetconnection through your mobile-phone to connect a TT-Server.
You have to pay for the internet-connection and for the service of TT. This feature got lost on "Standard Urban Rider" NC, but is available on my "Rider special".
To be honest I never tried it, because IMHO there is no sense to connect a TT-server with a cracked NC.
- wireless data transfer is available through
options -> Itinerary Planning -> options -> Send/Receive files
remark: in contrary to devices for car-navigation it is only possible to transfer .itn files

I would recommend that you read the User Manual of the Urban Rider NC.
The link can be found in my posting.

Remember: My Rider Special definitly needs a headset with "headset and handsfree" and "A2DP" capabilities.
