Navcore 9.410 on XL2IQ - compass not working

Postby ivblumen » Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:13 am

Hi,
I have a XL2IQ (model 4ET03 - Canada 310), which originally had Navcore 9.151, with simple menus.

Another user (giovanno) in this forum (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?2194-DSA-Navcore/page5&) recommended
"Navcore 9.136 Original XL2IQ full patched (New adaptation Tested)" with full menus - which I installed and works very well (only exception is day/night auto switch), and I´ve been using it for a couple months.

A few days ago, Tomtom Home required installation of Navcore 9.410 (un-uncheckable option).

(I´m aware of the TTHver2.7 or .bif workarounds, but wanted to try the update.)

This version (9.410) does not seem very common around, I suppose it´s because TTH chooses upgrades based on the current navcore version, and not on the device model? So it chose 9.410 based on 9.136?

This new navcore 9.410 seemed quite good - has all the menus, even some more options in speedcams, TTS voices work, apparently day/night auto switch work (not 100% sure), but the only thing not working is the compass. There is the same compass icon that switches between "Show compass" and "Hide Compass", (not grayed out), but the compass is never displayed on the screen.

I reverted back to 9.136, but since these new 9.4xx navcores supposedly have some other improvements, I would like to use it - if I can get the compass to work.

Any ideas on why it´s not working (even being installed by TTH) and any possible solutions?

Thanks.

PS - I´m using 8.85 maps.

The 9.400 is for the normal 64mb models, the 9.410 is an Asian Navcore for the One models.
Both are only a few days old.
Can't test the 9.410 properly but on the 9.400 the compass option is only for the status bar and can be found in the status bar preferences.

You are the first member to report this problem. I suggest that you stay with 9.151 for the time being.
