Navcore 9.485 for most devices

Postby Wolfman » Sat Apr 20, 2013 4:17 pm

Hi,

I've been using Navcore 9.485 for a number of months.
Even though I have more free RAM (7 to 8MB) compared to when I was using 8.414 (4 to 5MB), the device has a tendency to re-boot. Sometimes it behaves itself, sometimes it doesn't. I never had any problems with 8.414.

I've got an XL30 (32MB) & use IQ routes & Loquendo and run in "XL" emulation.
Perhaps, there is a better emulation?

May be time to change my TT. I'm considering an XXL (2gb).

Wolfman.

1. You might try Navcore 9.430 for most models or Rider Navcore 9.500

2. This would not be a bad choice, as long as you are certain that you will never need a map over 2GB in size.

Thanks for the reply.
Any reason why you think that these versions would work better then 9.485?

No reason other than, if you aren't happy with the performance of a navcore, there are others that you can try.

so i was going to update a one XL (SD card model) with truck stuff for a caravan but decided against it
so im going use 9.485 with memory boost (only32mb device) and hardwire sound as in the past i have had issue when using tts voice, once going past alerts like speed cams the devices goes silent until a reeboot
i will be using 900.4602 UK and ROI map

so is there a recommeded to skin to use with this set up x30 or x40 etc.First ime i have used this navcore but reading this thread it seems ideal for older devices , in the past i have had issues with it running slow and being behind when coming to junctions etc

thanks for any help

No didn't try to edit anything, which way I read it thought it said there was a menu option to selected skin, mine looks like the old 8010 navcore lay out and as a result I also don't get the option for is routes or ALG in the setting menu

Why not use United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland v905.4754 [219MB]? It is the replacement map for 900.4602!!

I had this same issue when i first used this navcore. In self mode the skin chooser was not available in menu. I deleted self emu in reskin file which is in the skin folder. i also deleted rider emu as the device would not boot in the next avalable emulation which was rider 17. After this the device booted fine and gave reskin choice in main menu. I found i preferred x30 emu, so i deleted all others. Have been using this set up with no problems on two tt one new editions with no lag whatsoever.
