If you set the reskin file so the first two entries are identical, than this emulation will be used.
Only real reason for the skin chooser not to show up:
You deleted it from the SDKREGISTRY folder,
or a very basic emulation is used.
In all other cases the skin chooser will be on the last page of the menu.

this is what comes up when i open the reskin file
slf-Self;slf-Self;17-Rider;34-ONE;35-XL;36-XL LIVE;37-GO x50;39-Start;18-GO x20;25-GO x30;24-GO x40
all the skin bmp appear in SDKregistry
just on this will any skin i chosse always bee the old style skins like the 8xxx navcores or can you get the newer looking ones like the 9xxx navcores
i ask as im not getting any options for iq routes or ALG even those the map supports them, also in speed cam alerts not getting the option to warn if going too fast through an average speed cam zone

think i have it soreted put XL30 in the twice at the start of the line in the reskin file now i have then new type menu like the 9xxx navcores, i have iq routes option and ALG, but still no choice to warn if going too fast during average speed cameras, maybe they have removed this facility
excellent work this makes doing older devices a lot easier

Backup the reskin file and replace it with this:
37-GO x50;37-GO x50;24-GO x40;25-GO x30
Now your device should start in X50 emulation and the skin chooser should be visible as well offering the other emulations.
What option do you mean? IQ routes can only be enabled, after that it will show up in route summary (IQ routes used).
ALG does not mean you get pics everywhere

iq routes option is in planning preferences and now shows up with XL30 emu, ALG work great over here in uk for motorway junctions
using this gives me 7mb ram free compared to maybe 3 mb using an normal 9xxx navcore so should help with it running slow, ill test it out later
thanks for all the help ill report back

just been out on a test run and it seems to lag quiet a bit behind where we are a good second or two at junctions, any way to improve this

Did you untick the poi's, so they don't show on the map screen?

The closest option to this warning is: Main Menu, TomTom Services, Speed Cameras, Change warning preferences, select cam type, Warn me when approaching the camera, Only when speeding.

yes in the past it used to ask set the warning for an average speed camera, then if yes set a warning for going too fast in average speed zone, not a big issue to be honest ill leave it as it is

decided to try this navcore on my wifes XL30 32 mb widescreen device , it has a 1 gig hard drive
download the XL/memory boost/hardwire sound version, and running it with uk and ROI maps and speedcams 9104892
i have no POI's set to show on map ,but have iq routes enabled
as i read its sets off very slow struggling to keep up with journey, it gets better after a while but is still lagging behind by a few seconds,is there any way to improve this please

Navcore 9.510
Wed May 22, 2013 10:43 pm
i have been using downunders navcore 9.485 on two ancient tt one new editions since he first uploaded it and find it to be no trouble, i.e. no lag whatsoever on the road. i delete all skins except x 30 and untick all poi. i remember from a much earlier downunder navcore with swapfiles that he recommended to prepare a long route and run a demo of said route to increase free ram, i don't know if this is still the case with these later navcores, perhaps he can tell us.
i have prepared an sd card with his navcore 9.510 as tendriver recommends to try in my tt ones when i get them back from free loans to friends visiting U.S.A.

i loaded 9.510 on but was getting 3mb less ram that on 9.485, so going to try to tweak 9.485

downunder did warn us that the memory boost might not work with this navcore as tomtom had used a new kernel, appears he was right once again.
