There are no really significant differences between the V9 version, so IMHO it does not matter which version you use as long as it works fine on your device and you are happy.
I'm sure if TT ever produces a NC that is too good to miss you will hear about it in the forum ;)

I don't think I really know what I am doing, but I have loaded 9.465 and then overwritten TTsystem with the SE version, so assume this is the SE NC. This now gives me ALG and IQroutes again. If I switch between x30 and x40lite it now changes from old colours to new colours/icons.
The same change in 9.485 does nothing, it just stays with old colours/icons and no IQ or ALG.
I have now added rm and runclean to the 465 version and that increased the free RAM to 6MB. I think I shall stick here as that's about as good as I am going to get with me old unit now. The GPS module is still a bit fussy starting, it doesn't like starting after the 9.485 SD has been removed - I quess a flash data problem.
I did do a cleanflash though.
Thanks for all your help.

Where did you find the 9.485 SE?
Sun Jan 06, 2013 12:48 pm
I think I said 9.465 SE - from here
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11143-Navcore-Version-9.465There is a big difference between 465 and 485 - 465 has 3 panels vs 2 on 485.
Cheers

The unmodified 9.465 & 9.485 .cabs are identical, except 9.485 supports Chinese. If Downunder's 9.485 package & SE 9.465 are set to the same emu, they should look the same.

I don't understand then as they don't look the same at all. I used the 9.485 package installed (torrent from
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11134-Navcore-9.485-for-most-devices) and selected the MB version. It wouldn't change the menu icons and only had 2 panels. Do any of the switchfiles control the menu options? I put all this down to my very basic unit, but with the advantage of a SD slot, so I could swop NC's around to test easily.
Thanks for all the support - and a great discussion forum :D

OK I give in, the info files are the same. But the TTsystem are very different. I assume this is because of the creation of a swap file.

How are you comparing the ttsystem files?
Sun Jan 06, 2013 10:36 pm
Just by size 465 vs 485:
ttsystem Binary files are different * 28/10/2012 17:05:21 09/10/2012 15:42 8,231,135 2,309,116
I loaded the two folders in Winmerge and compared them, this is the ttsystem line output.
It would be nice if it worked as the free RAM is good, but not at the expense of the lost functionality.
Thanks for your patience!!

I don't know if you have noticed:
The 9.465 exists with a SE ttsystem, my Navcores do not have a SE ttsystem and won't work with switchfiles.
You change the emulation on the last page of the menu using the skin chooser.
Comparing two completely different files from different NC version will always result in differences.
Either use a SE with properly managed switchfiles or for my versions use the correct emulation by clicking on it.
I don't understand why you make experiments and compare stuff without even knowing why ;)

Hi this is working good in my XL2 I have x40 or x50. Cant find option to enable/change speedcams.
Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:17 am
Do you have speedcams installed?
If so what type and where?
Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:41 am
The speedcams from tomtom in the maps folder. The option is only available in x30
Mon Jan 07, 2013 4:59 am
Enable them in X30 and simulate a route with known cams after switching to X40, the cam settings should be still active.

Ok I'll try that. Thanks
