I am trying to find the 'best' v9 NC to be able to use 900.x maps.
I thought your 9.485 NC would fit the bill. I am really struggling with it though. You mention 'clicking' on skin options. I can't find anything to click. I have trying both loading on my Go300 and using TTHome. There are no options to change skins/emulation. What should I do to enable emulation?
You should be aware that if you switch between your 485 and 465, the GPS module does not start. You have to load another NC like 9.160 first, then it works again.
Thanks

1. I don't know what download for the NC's you use, my Navcore have the skin chooser on the last menu page.
2. I never had a problem switching between NC's no matter what way.

If you want to try the installer get it
here...
I used this link for the 9.485 NC and have tried the MB, Normal and MBHS versions. None have a skin chooser on the last page of Config Pref. This is the last page with options, the very last one has Restore Factory Settings 5123
The 465 again came from a thread on this forum. I think that my devise is not compatible with your NC. It is not listed in the 'reskin' file, so assume it can't be seen.
Thanks for trying, I may have to stick to 465 which does crash occasionally when replaning a route.

The skin chooser is the last page in the
MAIN MENU, not Change Preferences, Config Pref.!!!

Hi Tendriver
I have cloned a Go 720 TTgo.bif and fooled TTHome that it was looking at a Go720. I can now see ALG and IQR and the skin changer on Main Menu p4, so my Go 300 must be incompatible with 485. Using TTHome, the Skin Changer doesn't actually let me change anything, it just exits the menus.
Looks like I am going to have to stay with 465 SE.
Thanks for all the inputs.
:D

1. This makes no sense!! Also why are you using TT Home?
2. Again, why are you using TT Home?
3. What ever works for you.
4. THe TT Team sez, "You are Welcome".

OK Thanks.
For info the is another version from here, that works on my Go 300:
It also has:
Swap file. so the RAM free is 12+Mb
New colours/icons with fly out menus
ALG and IQR
PC voices
Skin Changer and some other items like Reboot, TomTool for access from screen (#mnt/sdcard), hide and show extras, GPSfix etc.
I assume these are the items that didn't work on your torrent version. I know its 465, but you convinced me that there was no difference to 485.
Hope this helps?! ::thumbup: ;)

They are based on the same core, created with the same tolls and work the same way, and since I had no negative reports that the skin chooser would not work, I assume my version ist still fine.
I remove the other extra stuff from the menu because noone uses it ;)

Your version now works, I had to edit 'reskin' manually just leaving x40. Hoorah and thanks!!

Nice to hear you got it going :)
Usually the manual editing should not be necessary, but it seems these really old devices are a bit different.
Thanks for the heads up!

This is the best NC version so far!! No crashes at all.
Question, I know the old Go300 is not supposed to do RDS-TMC, but I now get a 'Connected to TMC Receiver' when I use the car mount. It then shows the Traffic strip on the right hand side of the screen with a revolving circle at the top. Is there any way of making RDS-TMC work on this unit? The car mount does not have a receiver - I dismantled it, just a multi-connector wired to the 5v input plug. There is a PCB which I guess could be wired somehow to a receiver (loads on ebay), but I don't know how!!
Anyone any thoughts?:confused
