I am delighted to report that both of my GO 920 units, running with Navcore 9.510 with auto-power-on, are performing as normal. I've seen no problems arising from the Week Number Roll Over event on 6/7 April 2019, after driving over 600 miles in the UK since then.
Some people have reported that they needed to download QuickGPSfix before any satellites could be captured. However on 7 April I routinely did all the recommended updates called for in TTHome (except the recommended upgrade to 9.541) and that included a QuickGPSfix update. No issue there.

I must update this post...
Eventually I also found the need to re-establish a lock with satellites meant I had to use QuickGPSfix far too regularly - most inconvenient. Sadly I had to uprade to 9.541....

GPS fix every week?!?!

Postby ferrie » Sat Nov 30, 2019 7:43 pm

All,

Happy as Larry with my 10-year old TomTom GO 930, running with Navcore 9.510 with auto-power-on, FM-TMC, voices fine, etc etc. Great work, people here at Navitotal!! :023:

However: almost weekly my TomTom arrives at a point that it can not determine its GPS position anymore, no matter how long the wait. The solution so far is to run the QuickGPS fix through Fastactivate. Cumbersome task though, as I have to take the TomTom inside my home, start up PC etc and put it back in the car again....every week.... :022:

I don't remember this being needed before?
Am I doing something wrong? Anyone a solution/suggestion?!

Any help appreciated!!

PS Could someone tell me what the QuickGPSFix button does on the TomTom itself? Would it fix my issue? Does it have to be connected to internet for that? Or would it work just hitting the button whenever the above behaviour occurs? (don't remember it did something, when touched....)

Freddref, thanks!

This will not conflict with the autopoweron feature? Read before to keep 9.510?!

Anyone any experience doing the suggested update?

Just flashed according to the instructions on post176194.html#p176194, as suggested by Fredderf (thanks! :023: )

All went flawlessly, restarts with no pain, found GPS. Let's see how it holds with time.... confident this did the trick! Thanks all! Will post an update later .....

UPDATE

few weeks down the line: works like a charm! Here writes a happy TomTom 930GO-er with autostart, traffic and all... Thanks all for the efforts....

Merry Xmas everyone!!
