Karikiri, have you been able to successfully flash the new bootloader? It worked for my TomTom Go XL. The unit is now running with an 8GB SD card.
From there you will be able to install bigger maps and not have to worry about space constraints anymore.

Simply put the new bootloader system file in the root of your device/card and reboot the TomTom.
Make sure to have a fully charged battery and connect a charger when updating your bootloader.
