NAVCORE for TOMTOM GO I90

Postby ersa » Thu May 17, 2012 9:20 am

Hello,

I need newer NC for TOMTOM GO I90. I see it first time.
Now inside is NC ver. 7.851. What version may I use?
Did somebody test it?

Since it is an integrated system I'm not sure if a different Navcore will support all funktions as the old unit.
If all data is on a SD your first step is to make a full backup using Windows Explorer.
You can still use up to date maps, so you might want to wait with that until the new 890 maps are coming in a few days.
In the meantime (and after making a full backup) you can try to install a different Navcore, but I could not make any recommendations.
Check if TT Home offers an update.
I would start with the8.412 and than the 9.205, but make sure not install a new bootloader - the file is named "system" and yes not file ending.

"Not works" ?
What is the error message on the TT?
Did you patch the Navcore?
Do you have the .DCT files in the map folder after activation?

"This MAP can't be used in this device",
NC is patched with FastActivate_12.03.2012_Premium_edition_v1.8.8.5 tool,
YES there is .DCT file.

Maybe I need another tool for patch, becouse version of navcore is 7.851?

Woow this has been a pain, i couldn't log in or reset my password but i am SO SO happy i aint the only dinosaur with this great I90 device... but i have a couple of challenges.

First i want to update my maps to 890 but i can't find a working map, 885_4010 is working great for me but 890 maps are hard to find, i guess i would want the 890_4224 Europe 2GB map.

Ideally i woul like ALG on the device but untill now haven't found the way to do so, i did try to upgrade to Navcore 8412 (basicpack) but this gets my device in a permanent looping mode, i also tried the DSA version of 9205 that i found here which isn't passing the bootscreen either.

So some advise on maps would be great, a fix to go beyond 7851 would be greater, and having ALG and all of the above would be like a fantasy...

I thing the I90 is stuck with the supplied NC as too much is different in that system.
You can of course make a full backup and try some NC of your choice.
Finding the 890 maps can't be too hard as we have a big red sticky thread for them ;)
Please send me a PM with your ttgo.bif and do some checks on the NC once I downloaded it to see if there is more possible.

So since i had some spare time i tried your idea, i cleaned the SD completely and formatted the card, installed the 9401 fan edition and followed the 9 steps, than added content such as maps etc. the first time the device started and gave ma an OLD interface (the blue maze one) and after the config steps the menu was empty, no buttons what so ever, which makes it hard to operate:D so i rebooted the device after which it looped just after the splash screen, i manually removed a number of files such as settings.dat, zip, voices, loquendo and after every file i tried to start it up again which failed of course. eventuallly i moved back to my old 7851 and it works again so no luck with updating. looking forward for the next test

Re: NAVCORE for TOMTOM GO I90

Postby Tonywolf » Wed Jun 01, 2016 3:11 pm

Just bought a good 2012 MB van and guess what - a TOMTOM I90 seated inside.
Its currently running on NC 7.851 and has WE 835 maps.So I decided to install the latest Eastern Europe maps, got info from the compatibility chart - it says Eastern Europe 970_7468 is compatible down to NC 7.xxx.
Activated it with Easyactivator - everything seemed OK, meta, patches. The result - "This maps can not be used ..." message.
Tried with FastActivate - the same - all is ok, than the error message.
Tried another map - Greece, the same. Tried other compatible maps - the same.
Tried to update the NC with the common 9.51 - the unit freezes can not restart to create ttgo.bif file.
Refreshed from the TOMTOM site - the latest NC is the same 7.851.
So I need help from the masters - I do not need to update the NC - just to manage to use the maps I need - Easter Europe and Greece.
Thanks in advance!

There is no meta for it. Alway,s look of there is a meta for the map you want to use. No meta then you can,t use the map.
maps-v9xx-f179/meta-codes-970-t18709.html

A map can't be activated until a meta code is posted with it !!!
Meta codes are posted as soon as Navitotal gets them!!!

EE 970.7466 is the only usable version at this time, but is not compatible with your navcore.

EE 965.7280 is usable & compatible with your navcore.
Greece 970.7468 is usable & compatible with your navcore.
I do not give help by PM. It deprives our other members of a chance to learn. Please post your issue in the appropriate forum/thread. You will get an answer.
